I bought a refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max a year ago February. Lotta trouble the first month telling me that there was no warranty until I finally called enough times that I found someone that would send me a replacement refurbished phone.

Apparently that phone is recorded with Verizon as being sent on April 7, 2023

I called Verizon and asked them when the warranty for the second refurbished phone is up and they claimed they didn’t have any information. “Indefinite” was their term.

I called Apple and they said the warranty would be up April 4, 2024.

I’m considering moving to Mexico and they told me even though I am paying insurance that either I’d have to mail the phone back to United States or bring it back to a United States Verizon location in person!

Are there Verizon cell towers in Mexico?

They said I would have to leave the phone on roaming or I would be charged.

I’m on a plan of unlimited text and data. And supposed to have free calls to Canada and Mexico and from Canada Mexico to United States, Canada, Mexico.

I’ve had a number of different cell carriers over the past couple decades whenever we first got cell phones and I find a lot of them are very reticent to give one all the information that one needs to make a good decision.

Has anyone had any experience with a Verizon phone which was not paid for yet moving to Mexico or to Canada?

Does anyone know about repairs. Replacements? I’m older woman alone so I suppose I’ll have to buy a burner as a backup. Trying to switch Sim cards in my old iPhone 8 Plus while trying to call from another country seems near impossible. Sheeesh
