Finally kinda found by myself with help of somebody. hat thing is kinda disturbing, the glass backpanel that comes from the factory goes underneath of each of this aluminium rings. When you break the glass, two lenses (but telephoto) are made with an inner ring made of aluminium also, and they are not mofing so freely. But telephoto lens do not have same logic. · I do not know if this phone was already repaired before, but if it comes from the factory like this, i can see absolutely no logic in there. So i just put some glue underneath that aluminium ring, and glued the new back glass. · The thing is, that replacement backglass, have larger holes for lenses (not like the factory one that goes underneath the aluminium cache). And then you are new to these repairs, you cannot understand it, and you're stumbled. · Hope this will help somebody Answer from Max on ifixit.com

r/iphone on Reddit: Any DIY methods for repairing the back glass on iPhone 13?
September 25, 2023 -

I have an iPhone 13 with shattered rear glass, and I'm hoping to repair it just enough to use for a trade-in promo with my carrier. I used to repair iphones back in the day (iPhone 4, 4S, 5 era) so I'm comfortable completely stripping down a phone. I just can't seem to find any options for buying parts. The closest thing I can find is this blank rear panel from ifixit. But it says that "removing the spot welded rear facing camera bezels" is required. And I can't find any further elaboration on that. Besides, without the Apple logo, I'm not sure it would pass inspection anyway.

Any other options besides going down to local repair shop?

r/ifixit on Reddit: Broke my IPhone 13 Pro Max Power Button while doing back Glass replacement…
November 25, 2023 -

Hi guys, I have been doing small personal Apple DIY’s for the past 6 years.

I Recently chose my personal 13 Pro max to attempt a DIY it has been the first IPhone I chose to do a DIY on in about 3 years. (Wrong choice) while doing a DIY on the back glass I pierced my battery, ripped my magnets out my mag safe coil, broke my screen and even broke the flash light cable. Everything has been fixed (DIY) apart from the main issue the power button not sure how but my power button is no longer with us just wondering if there’s a easier way to use a iPhone with out a power button such as programming the volume up/down button as my new power button. If not shall I sell the phone its self? As it may be too much of an inconvenience to use a IPhone without a power button and I don’t want to replace it as it seems like job too big for me to take on.

Thanks guys.

Hi Olav, · The rear camera lens covers really aren't all that tricky. They're just circles of glass held in with adhesive, so replacing them is basically a matter of picking the broken glass out, removing the adhesive and sticking down a new lens. Really, all you have to worry about is leaving glass chips inside, so clean it out well and don't get fingerprints on the camera lens itself, and of course be careful to not scratch the lens either. I've done it on my Pixel 2, and it's exactly the same for the iPhones. · There's a video guide on YouTube for your phone, but really any guide will work. · How to Replace Camera Lens iPhone 13 Pro Max / 12 Pro Max - YouTube · The parts are easy to get too; I ran across them with a cursory search on Amazon, eBay and AliExpress all, and they're not expensive. Here's one as an example. · Amazon.com: ASDAWN Back Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement for iPhone 13 Pro Max and 13 Pro Camera Glass Lens Replacement with Pre-Installed Adhesive + Repair Tool Kit + Installation Manual : Cell Phones & Accessories

replacing the camera isn't quite as easy as expressed by many people on the internet. sure, you can pick the glass out of the rear camera lens bezel BUT, if you go the rout of not removing the screen and removing the camera first there are risks that you need to be aware of. If while removing the glass you get glass shard fragments in the focal motor, it can render the camera useless. the proper way of doing this is to remove the screen and then removing the camera and pushing the glass out of the back of the frame. this eliminates any risk of getting glass into the focal motor and getting glass shard fragments on the lens coating.

Are you asking about the panel being sold here on iFixit? If so, the answer is in the title of the listing, "iPhone 13 Pro Max Aftermarket Blank Rear Glass Panel. So no, there isn't going to be a logo on it; it specifically says it's blank. · If you're new to this, I wouldn't recommend that particular one, as it is made to the original specifications, which means the hole sizes for the camera bezels are correct. The problem is, when the rear panel is manufactured, the glass is glued to the frame, and then the bezels are spot welded to the frame. So, as the listing states, you must remove the bezels first in order to fit the glass. That's a difficult process where you either have to chisel it off or destroy it with a dremel tool, and even if you get it off and can reuse it or find a replacement, you're then left with the problem of how to resecure it. Most of us don't have the little micro spot welder Apple uses, so you're going to have to go with some half-assed method like gluing it. · The usual solution to this is to buy an aftermarket glass that has the holes enlarged so they fit over the bezel. That leaves you a bigger gap than they originally had, but allows you to reassemble the phone without removing the bezels. I'd suggest some silicone sealant around the bezels when you put it together to help keep any liquids or contaminants out. · So I'd suggest you look around at places like Amazon, eBay or AliExpress and find yourself a rear cover you like. They generally do come with the Apple logo and you can pick whatever color you want. You'll also find lots of YouTube videos showing you how to do that replacement if you're not sure. · I don't work for iFixit, so if you want an official answer from them you'll need to write to the iFixit Store personnel by emailing them at [email protected].
