So I’ve been using my iPhone 14 as a secondary phone for a while now, and honestly it’s been awesome overall — smooth performance, great battery, display’s still bright and crisp, and Face ID works perfectly.
But… that little discoloration around the camera island is so annoying. The lens area has this weird faded ring / color shift that you can notice when light hits it. Doesn’t affect photo quality at all, but once you notice it, you can’t unsee it lol.
Besides that, the phone runs like new. Super reliable and honestly perfect as a backup device — just wish that camera island didn’t develop that ugly spot.

I’m so glad a point has been made about this:
The always-on display is a little too... on
Cause even on the videos I’ve seen it still looks quite bright, or brighter than I’d like I should say.
Love the way they’ve waited until they could do it better than anyone else, but a toggle for different brightness levels would be great, not so dark -as the sleep focus but maybe somewhere in the middle ground.

For reference, i’m upgrading from the iPhone SE(2020). I’m stuck between the 13 and 14. People on the internet are saying there isn’t much of a difference between the two.
I don’t plan on upgrading for another 2-3 years, that’s why i’m leaning more towards the 14. (apple loves to slow down older phones) How is your experience with the 14? Id love to know. I also am a big picture taker so is the camera good?
any form of advice/ opinions are welcome!
