Apple iPhone 14 review: Everything you need to know
But the iPhone 14 still features welcome updates like a revised design and improved display, camera and performance. My iPhone 14 review breaks down all the pros and cons so you can decide if this is the right handset for your needs. The iPhone 14 is the best iPhone value, though it’s not much of a leap from the iPhone 13.

I transferred from an S21 and my wife transferred from a 13 Pro Max. We both have 14 Pro Maxes now and my wife HATES her camera. She wants her 13 Pro Max back. I think the camera is okay, but my wife and I agree my work phone, Pixel 7 Pro, takes the best pics, not even including the edit capabilities. If Apple would add the same edit abilities to their phones as Android, it would be a much better experience. Battery is okay but nothing to rave about and my wife said her 13 lasted longer. The software has been more stable than my Pixel thus far. S21 had the best cell signal quality than the 13, 14 or Pixel. iPhone screens could be brighter too as they are kind of hard to see in sunlight. Apparently iPhones never need their compass/GPS recalibrated which makes my wife laugh when I do it for my Pixel almost weekly it seems but my S21 was only about every 3-4mos. Overall, it is a decent phone. I like the weight and I'm getting used to the straight edges vice the chamfered edges on my old S21.

I preordered and got mine release day. I had actually just paid in full for a new 13 but got an amazing deal from Verizon for 14 pro, $5 a month with trade in, so obviously I took advantage. Overall, I love this phone. I absolutely LOVE always on display. Anyone claiming it will give you poor battery life is wrong, based off my experience. Having the time at a glance is great especially if my watch has died or I’m not wearing it. Absolutely love looking over and seeing weather widgets on my lock screen without even having to touch the phone, helpful information at a glance. It’s fast, and has amazing battery life (I charge at night and regularly make it home from my 9-5 with over 70% left and that’s using all day on apps like Facebook, TikTok, twitter, Life360, etc. but it’s also plugged into CarPlay a few times throughout the day for 5-10 mins at a time). The dynamic Island is the main selling point for me, it was worth it, but it’s not as amazing as I thought it was during the keynote. I think this is partially due to a lack of developers taking advantage of the space since it’s the 14 pro models right now. There are features for it in a lot of third party apps but they usually lack any true functionality imo. My absolute biggest problem with this phone are the back cameras- the switching between macro and wide/ normal lenses (excuse the lack of official terminology) is extremely bumpy and does a poor job. I have a very hard time getting close objects to focus because it often can’t decide which lens to use and just keeps switching back and forth before it can focus. Only other problem I have is that if a notification comes up and I don’t immediately use faceid to unlock, but pick it up before the screen dims again, I have to press the sleep button twice before it’ll unlock. Not sure if this is just a 14pro thing or not though. Someone said it’s too heavy but I disagree. It has a nice weight and feels durable and comfortable to hold. Speakers sound great and the earpiece is very small and visually appealing but just as loud if not louder than previous models. Definitely my favorite phone so far!

February 13, 2023 - The 6.1-inch iPhone 14, $799, and iPhone 14 Pro, $999, should be easy for most people to use with one hand, and they take up less room in a pocket or handbag. For $100 more, the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus, $899, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, $1,099, offer more canvas for watching videos, playing games, and scrolling through content.
