It's fine to use higher watt chargers. The phone will limit the input current. Any USB-C PD charger will work. iPhone uses up to about 22 watts and ramps down as the charge charge level increases and the battery warms up. I use 60Watt and 100Watt chargers. With a cable with power meter you can even watch the charge rate. Answer from Whiplash104 on reddit.com

r/iphone15 on Reddit: What wattage can the iPhone 15 charge at?
July 2, 2024 -

Sorry if this is a dumb post but like is it alright to charge higher than 20W. I say this cause the Apple brick is 20W. I would plan to use my previous OnePlus Warp Charger (30W) to fast charge my iPhone sometimes. Is it gonna have an effect on it cause sometimes I hear that it is gonna overheat or damage the battery or whatever but like is it really that bad? I mean my iPhone 15 already sometimes apparently overheats cause it says that “Charging was on hold due to iPhone temperature” but when I do feel it, it doesn’t even feel that hot

I just got a wireless charger for Christmas but it’s only 15 watts
Jokes aside 😂 It will be perfectly fine for your phone, phones and batteries have become alot more better in recent years. The phone will draw as much wattage as the charger will allow, it won’t draw anymore or any less. Only thing to having a 15 watt compared to say a 25 watt is the charge speed will be slower. I use a 15 watt charger for my 16 pro and it works perfectly fine and hasn’t caused any issues whatsoever. Hell I have a 7.5watt charger that works with my 16 pro buts slow af. Probably will get a new one soon. More on reddit.com

Which charger are y’all using for your iPhone 15?
I’ve just been using apple’s “slow” 5W charger that I’ve had since my XR with a USBC to A adaptor in it to use the cable my 15 Plus came with. I also have Apple’s 20W “fast” charger but I prefer to use the slow one as I leave my phone plugged in overnight so it has more than enough time to charge slowly and is easier on the battery in the long run.
