5W If you want your battery health to remain as healthy as possible. Fast charging creates heat which degrades battery chemistry. Slow trickle charging is best.

General rule is, the faster you charge (higher watts), the shorter your battery health will be. So this all depends on what you require. For over night charging, I use 12 watts with optimized battery charging turned on. Phone will always be at 100% by the time I wake up. It may take a few cycles to learn your habits though. Doing this, my battery health is at 99%. I got a 14PM since launch. I’d say that’s pretty good… If you need power during the day (because you may have forgotten to charge it overnight, you can do the highest possible. A few cycles isn’t going to hurt the battery that much.

Any charger that works is a recommended charger. I think it has a peak power draw of about 27W so a 30W charger would be the faster option. Any higher wattage charger will not yield faster speeds.

There's no such thing as a compliant USB-C power adapter that will harm your new iPhone. iPhone are not engineered in a way that's meant to burden the consumer with battery anxiety. Enjoy your new iPhone and don't worry about this.

About 12 days ago, I set out on a mission to find out which charger among my collection was giving my iPhone 15 Pro Max the most power. What I didn't realize at the time was that measuring the power the brick draws from the wall is just one piece of the puzzle ( thank you u/janxb) . The real revelation is in how much power is delivered to the phone itself. Today, after finally getting my hands on a USB C multifunction tester, I'm ready to share the results with you.
I created some rankings for both power delivered to phone and brick efficiency.
You may remember this picture from the initial test, these are the bricks that i tested and how much they draw from the wall.
