This is a copy of the OP's original post in case they decide to delete their post/account so that others searching can find it later: I am looking to upgrade to an iPhone 16 Pro from an iPhone 12. All of these options are a bit overwhelming -- I just want the best overall net deal. I do not mind if the discount comes from the plan or the phone, or locked in to the carrier for a little bit of time as long as it is worth it. I would prefer it is not Verizon (not a hard no) and that I get a decent chunk of priority data. I have had prepaid plans for the longest time, but I see that some postpaid plans are always advertising good deals especially since many do trade-ins as well. I am suspicious of extra taxes/fees or other hidden costs. **Ultimately, is anything better than getting the phone for $1k - $180 trade credit via Apple website and then getting one of the many $25 unlimited prepaid plans** (I just need ~30gb/month)? Is it worth buying the current top of the line iPhone? Yes. If you need one now. If you don’t NEED a phone now, wait till iPhone 17 Pro Max releases in just 2 months. It will be better and have an extra year of software and hardware support. I have one, and currently have no issues. Works great. Many of the issues on here can be resolved with a full software reset ( which I did once, and it fixed my issue). If people here have hardware issues, it’s still under 1 year warranty. all of the postpaid “deals” seem enticing, but you’re paying triple the cost of the phone by the end of the installments. your money will be best spent either selling or trading in your current phone, & purchasing one outright from Apple. maybe by using a credit card that’ll allow you to pay the balance off overtime with zero interest (e.g. ACMI). then just activate it on whoever has the best deal on service, which imo, is Total Wireless rn if you want a single line of service on Verizon’s network.
