The official Apple leather cases are pretty great. Not as protective as an otter box or anything, but better than a naked phone, and the slim design makes you forget it’s even on it sometimes until you take it off. The 7 Plus versions will fit the 8 Plus and they’re on clearance at your local Best Buy for 24.99. More on reddit.com

I LOVE the look of the Apple silicone case but it doesn’t offer nearly enough protection, especially along where the screen meets the sides Bought the Otter-box Symmetry to test out, but I’m worried the back will be too slippery for a good hold on my MagSafe wallet. That’s why I’m inclined to stick with silicone again, for that hold. And that’s the other thing, I LOVE my leather MagSafe wallet, and I’ve heard nothing but bad about the fine woven, so I went ahead and bought my locals Targets last 2 black leather MagSafes to have in storage until I need them. I recently got a used iPhone 8 Plus, which was in near mint condition and has had no problems thus far.
I’d like to find a good case, but am having some trouble, as I (regrettably) didn’t use a case on my last iPhone, and don’t know what would best fit my current needs. There are simply too many out there.
Ideally, I’d like to find a case that’s $40 or less, from a reputable company, durable and stylish (but won’t add too much extra bulk), and can be easily found and purchased online (ideally Amazon).
Best Buy recommended Otter cases (specifically the Commuter and Symmetry cases), but I had trouble trying them on for fit in the two minutes I had before closing.
My daily uses with the phone will likely be varied, but I expect to primarily use it for reading, texting, and less active activities (i.e., as opposed to photos and videos). I will also travel regularly with it, which might be when I use the camera more often.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I personally like the Otterbox Symmetry cases for everyday use. They are a tad more thick than some cases, but the extra bulk gives you a lot of protection. The raised edges really do a good job of protecting the screen. They also come in a huge variety of colors and patterns.
