Apple iPhone Trade-in - Apple Community
I traded my iPhone 11 to IPhone 14 Plus through the Apple online store on 3/31/23. My iPhone carrier is T-Mobile. Trade-in credit was $400: instant trade-in credit $180 and T-Mobile bill credit over 24 months $220. Also, I received a email for that on 4/13/23 from Apple Store.

r/tmobile on Reddit: iPhone trade in
January 6, 2025 -
I haven’t been following on where the best deals are and what is allowed where in the past 6 months. My son is due for a new iPhone. I was going to get him one with the new release but I’m not paying for one with the tariffs. 😂. Is there a compelling reason to go for a trade in at Apple versus T mobile store? I would like to avoid mailing the phone in. He has a 14 plus now. It is paid off.

Apple phones are unlocked. That is the most common reason for buying through Apple. T-Mobile iPhones if financed are locked for the entire length of the eip, which cannot be paid off early without losing all future recurring device credits from any new promos. T-Mobile device promos are often higher in value through T-Mobile directly, though some are identical when using T-Mobile via Apple on a top tier plan. Legacy plans like One get crumbs typically, although there was a recent promo (now expired) where T-Mobile upped the promo values on iPhones for us legacy bums, especially on Magenta Max. But since time machines are extremely expensive, that doesn’t help you now. If it were me, I would keep the 14 Plus if the battery is good. Not much changes or significantly improves these days from one gen iPhone to the next and so on. If upgrading just for Apple AI, it is currently a joke. Some Apple users are even filing lawsuits as well due to privacy and security issues.

The 14 Plus is a good phone still, I don’t see the reason to upgrade tbh. If he upgrades to the 16 Plus he is not going to see that much of a difference given how stagnant phones are these days. The reciprocal tariffs just got paused for 90 days (other than China). I honestly don’t see him keeping them in the long term, they’re not popular and it’s sinking his popularity.

How strict is tmobile with trade in phones? I have an iPhone 7 I want to trade in but the wifi isn't working and it has some scratches. I would like to hear from people that have traded in a phone with tmobile. Thanks - Quora
Answer (1 of 2): T-mobile will not give you a lot of money for a broken phone, you might get $10. Scratches are not a problem, but a broken wifi antenna is not an easy fix, and that's why the price is so low. You can get the most money if you sell the phone for parts. This is not an easy thing to...
