If your iPhone 6s battery is bellow 70% battery health then it is time to replace it.

You can buy the battery online and replace it yourself or you can pay apple to do it for you.

Too check battery capacity you go to settings then go to battery and then battery health and you will see your battery capacity

To replace the battery you will need a suction cup, pry tool and the Philippe screwdriver and a small plus screwdriver.

First you remove the two screws at the bottom of the phone then you will use the pry tool and the suction cup to lift up the screen (be careful so you don’t damage the ribbon cables) after you remove the screen remove the plate on top of the battery that contains two screws. Lift the metal bracket and remove the battery from the phone. The battery has adhesive strips that you will have to pull from the bottom to remove ( be very gentle to them because there is a chance of them breaking)

After the removal of the battery place the new one and reassemble the metal bracket with the two screws and then resemble the screen

Can it be taken to a Best Buy (which is Apple certified) or does it have to be done at an Apple Store? Not sure I'd want to tackle the battery removal.

Yeah mines at 55%, but the phone cost me $135 and a battery replacement is like $45 so I’m finding it hard to justify

Edit 1 I just timed my phone use from 100 percent till dead. Phone lasted 6 hours with moderate use

Total screen time from 1pm to 7pm: 3 hr

Edit 2: apple replaced my battery but apparently my phone didn’t turn on so they gave me a new iphone 12 mini and a free MagSafe puck and adapter.

Edit 3: glad i replaced my battery. Phone lasts at least 12 hrs

just got mine replaced about a month ago, I think I was at 75%. Battery now lasts all day, and not more, with moderate to heavy use. My phone also doesn't lag constantly anymore.

i replaced at the apple store at 82% and for me, it's made no difference whatsoever. wasted the money. other users here report about their battery life going back to what it was when they bought. i'll never get a battery placement again.

I know it's normal for a phone's battery to degrade over time, but I'm on a tight budget right now and can't afford a battery replacement yet, let alone a new phone, so I'm trying to maintain my phone's battery health at least until I can replace the battery.

So how long does yours last with normal usage (social media, YouTube, occasional gaming)?

In my iphone 11 with 78% health it was enough to last whole day with my regular use (which is not that much compared to numbers some people post here, I'm averaging 2h40m SOT). When I was going out in the evening I used to charge it up a bit, just to be safe. When I was on vacation where I was using phone more intensively it definitely required top up during day.

I have iPhone 11 and I replaced the battery after the original one reached 75% health. I had to charge it to 100% twice per day with normal use. Got fed up and had it replaced.
