Hello all!
I guess the title kind of says it all, I recently bought an iPhone 16 Pro and would like to get to know its camera's potential and best ways of using.
I saw other recommendations in past posts, but they seem old and probably do not encompass all new(er) photo modes.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations.
I’ve been getting a lot of suggested posts on IG for iPhone courses. Does anyone have experience or recommendations? Wouldn’t have known about long exposures with iPhone if it weren’t for these ads, but is it worth taking any of the courses? I am not looking for the “toss leaves over the subject” stuff. Looking for actual tips on iPhone as a photographic tool.

So I’ve been seeing this ad everywhere. 50€ is a reasonable price but then again, if this were on udemy it would be only 10€ ;) Also, this guy “originally charged 449€”, then 99€, so I feel there is no real price to this? Basically what I’m asking if this course would be worth the money. What I’m trying to do with my iPhone is take better pictures of my knitwear projects.
Thanks for your input!
I bought the course and it was worth the price. First, you can learn some of these things on Youtube for free. But what I love about the course is the teaching style, the dashboard, the support you get from his team and other students.
Speaking about the price, you are right that the price keeps changing. It is all marketing techniques. If you are still curious, you can read my iPhone Photography School review here. (
Definitely no
My sweet mother, at 72, wants to learn photography with her iPhone 12. I would like to buy her an online course as a gift. Any recommendations? If the best one available is free, that's okay too.
Guys, I hesitate if it's worth to pay 49$ for that course. I'm beginner and would prefer to pay for the course and have everything organized rather than look for free videos on yt. However I'm little scared of the aggressive marketing on their website - full of clocks and naive sentences. Have anyone paid it and is willing to share an opinion ?
Need to learn iPhone photography and the videography. Please be kind enough to suggest some good as well as free sources. Provide links if possible. Thank you in advance.
One of my buddies took a course for his iPhone and it made a TREMENDOUS difference. Has anyone taken the popular samsung course that's out there right now? At $50 for full access, I'm super tempted but would like to chat with someone who has it...

My wife just got an IPhone 14 plus and really wants to get deeper into taking photos. The problem is that she has no experience with photography, let alone mobile photography.
Are there any absolute beginner online classes or YouTube Playlists that can help her get the basics down? I feel like she would be great at it cause she has such a great eye and I want to help her out.
Hi all, I’ve seen a few posts asking about iPhone Photography School and most of the comment seem to say it’s not worth it and to watch YouTube videos… but I’ve yet to see many (if any) recommendations.
Does anyone here have any YouTubers they recommend that have good photography content? Bonus points if they focus on iPhone settings.
I really enjoy photography, but I want to start with my phone before moving back to my more “traditional” (digital) cameras. I was diagnosed with a neurological disorder a few years ago and this feels like the easiest way for me to get my head back in the game, start thinking about my camera settings without getting overwhelmed (plus it would be great to practice better photo and video taking on my phone as with my mobility aid I’ve struggled to take my camera out hence why I’m so rusty).
Thanks in advance!
Free or Paid.. Both are welcome
Hey guys , I was thinking about getting this course for myself “iPhone photography school” , it’s a page on Instagram that sales that, and I’ve been following it for quite a while now, and it seemed very interesting. Since I’ve always been into taking pictures with my phone , I wonder if any of you has tried something like this or even the same course. Thanks 😊

Hi all,
I would like to learn photography concepts and start doing more serious photos than simple iPhone camera snaps.
I don’t want to spend money on any gear ATM and I just want to use what I have (iPhone 13 Pro).
It would be perfect to have a course that focuses on iPhone photography or any specific camera app for iPhone.
Can you recommend anything? Any YouTube courses, online courses etc.
My only requirement is that this course should be complete course with progression, not YouTube channel with random videos about different topics.
Where abouts are you ?
Coursera offers a comprehensive course that you can use your phone through...
https://www.coursera.org/specializations/photography-basics#courses
It's a series so 5 courses total. Look to a starter camera and simple lens, used can be cheaper than most phones these days. Will help you learn basic functions, but again, it's not necessary at this point.
Hello, I am just curious if anybody took these photography academies, which are heavily advertised on every social media platform. You know, the guy with his iPhone on a tripod 😅
Hello, I am novice to photography and would love to take it up as an active hobby. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and I have seen some amazing pictures clicked with an iPhone and would love to work on my skills to create something similar.
Do you guys mind sharing links to tutorials/videos/PDF/in-class training where I can learn all this? I do have a apps like ProCam/Camera+ but still end up clicking basic pictures! :(
Thanks guys!
r/photography is a great place with lots of resources for both the techniques and the nuts and bolts of taking pictures.
The best thing I can add is to take lots of pictures. Way more than you think you'll need. Change it up a little each time: reframe, experiment with exposure settings, try different lighting. It'll help you get comfortable, and if you mix it up enough you won't be able to help but take at least some shots you like.
r/postprocessing is another place you might like. Some people will try to convince you that you're not a "real" photographer if you don't get it right "in camera". Screw them and the high horse they rode in on. Lightroom is the bees knees and a lot of fun to play with. It's pricey, but there are low cost and even free alternatives out there, both phone apps and full blown PC applications. r/FOSSphotography can help in that regard.
Enjoy!
If you’re in the NYC area, I teach an IPhoneography class
You can see my iPhone photos on my Instagram
Edit: also... not sure what you photograph specially , but Magnum has a great book on conceptual art photography link
Photos conveyed with mystery, a story, emotion, etc make the most compelling photos.
What online classes and/or other resources do you all recommend for improving one’s use of an iPhone for capturing better photos? I’m on an iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Thanks in advance!
What are the best youtube channels/courses to learn mobile photography and edit?
