As the title reads, My iPhone 11 Max Pro is stuck with this prompt and then restarts. When I say restart, I mean the apple logo appears and it's a hard restart. After the timer is back at 15 minutes. My iPhone is not jailbroken and I haven't downloaded any shady apps. When I try the Forgot Password reset method and enter my apple ID password the phone just does the scrolling image and doesn't do anything until it restarts again... I'm at a loss here. Is my iPhone breached? I also tried putting it into safe mode but that doesn't work either. No other posts have the same issue as mine.
This is an issue my dad has been happening recently with his iPhone 12 Pro. He takes his phone out of his pocket and it says 'iPhone unavailable, try again in 15 minutes.' This has happened 3 times now. His phone is up to date, he hasn't tried entering his password. He has raised to wake turned off as well. Every time it happens, the error message says 15 minutes. We're really not sure what the problem could be.

Have been on for an hour, went down to 14 minutes. Any solution to this that doesn’t includes factory reset?
Hi, my iPhone 13 Pro just went like that when I was out cycling. It was in my back pocket and my jersey must have activated the display enough for it to enter my passcode wrong a few times. However the countdown is stuck at 56 minutes remaining
So I was working earlier today and my phone was accidentally entering the passcode while I was walking around with my phone in my pocket, probably from the pressure towards my leg. It must of tried entering the passcode multiple times. I've had this happen before, but I caught it earlier and was able to correctly enter my passcode after a 15 or 30 minute wait. My phone is just stuck on this mode now. Somehow I can still receive calls. Frustrating. If anyone has any suggestions or knows any good software of anything I could do to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to have to go drop hundreds of dollars on a phone if I can avoid it.
Hey!
I've asked my friend to buy me an iphone while traveling. He bought me an iPhone16 Pro, 256GB. He turned it on to see if it works, he did setup a passcode but didnt connect it to the internet nor provided his appleId (skipped those steps). As you might guess he forgot the passcode. We tried 6 different codes that came to his mind and they didnt work, that got me to it being unavailable for 15 mins. So I tried to follow the restore procedure with my mac. Tried it a couple of times but its still unavailable - the process starts > restore > restore & update > downloading update > extracting software. After that the iphone disappears from my Finder and my mac gives me no feedback if the operation was successful or not. After a while the iphone turns on, but instead of expected "Hello" message im getting back the "iphone is unavailable. Try again in 15 minutes message". It happened like 3 times already, i've waited the 15 minutes before trying again, im also using an original usbc-usbc cable (although not the one that came with the iphone, but one from my ipad, if thats relevant). Am I doing something wrong? How bad is this?
I found sisters old phone and took it to a repair store and I came back and I turned it on and it said five minutes left because the password was imported incorrectly, so I waited three minutes but then it randomly showed me a security lockout for 8 hours. now it shows iPhone unavailable try again in seven hours. this is the iPhone 11. Can someone please help? do i have to wait the 7 hours?
so going to work, looked down at my phone and suddenly it shows: iphone available
all the websites are telling me that it shows up if I enter the wrong passcode too many times, but for me, it just appeared out of nowhere. After 10 mins, it was back up up again and told me to restart my device. So I wanna do that tomorrow because in case if I do restart it, my alarm will stop working which will be a big issue coz I have work in the morning. So, should I restart it now as it has no effect on the alarm system? Right now, my timer on the lock screen is like semi-permeable which is not how it looked like before. That's why it got me thinking that something's prolly not right in the phone and I don't wanna corrupt it further. Everything else looks fine tho.
Plz & thx.
Hey guys,
so this thing came up after I tried my password. How do I overcome this ? Are there softwares capable of unlocking my phones ? Am I really gonna be forced to factory reset ?? This thing sucks.
edit: I think some here didn't get what was happening. I am aware that my password wasn't accepted and that it is obviously a security feature from Apple to protect my data etc. I also knew that if I didn't get it right, I'd inevitably have to factory reset my device. Those aren't the problem, so please stop suggesting those. What I wanted was a software that could delete my password for me and allow me to bypass it.
I had multiple passwords on my phone and I happened to insert an old one, which led me to this situation. I calmed down 4 hours after making this post, and after thinking hard, I input the RIGHT ONE. You may ask why I forgot it in the first place: well, I barely use it since I have face ID for almost all my passwords out there, so it had been a long time since I had to use the 6 digits password. I missed my face ID scan when I connected my phone to my pc and they opted to give me the password in order to sync the 2 devices. That's it. That's how I got into this mess. Fortunately my brain clicked at the right time and I remembered my password. Thanks to y'all (and note your password somewhere lol)
My wife’s iPhone is getting locked out, despite nobody having access to it. Is this a hacking/spoofing attempt? She has rebooted it already multiple times. No recent app install. Please help.
There’s no connect to iTunes text showing up at the bottom I don’t know if It’s different somehow because all the posts I see have connect to iTunes at the bottom of the screen
While my phone was sitting on the table at a restaurant, I tried to unlock it when receiving a text message. It came up with a message “iPhone unavailable - try again in 5 minutes”. Or something to that effect. I have only seen a similar message (although different) when the passcodes been entered incorrectly multiple times. Any idea why this would occur? I hadn’t entered my passcode more than once.
iPhone 12
iOS: 17.1.2
I have seen my issue in this subreddit but I have not seen it answered adequately, so I am asking again.
I just had my iPhone spontaneously lock for 5 minutes, even though I was not trying to enter my passcode.
My iPhone was unlocked and I was playing with it when Simeon came over to talk to me. I glanced up from my phone and had a short conversation with them for about a minute.
When I looked back at my phone it said ‘iPhone unavailable Try again in 5 minutes’
Obviously 5 minutes later I was able to unlock my phone.
I’m aware that iPhones lock when you enter an incorrect passcode 5 times, but does anyone know why my phone would spontaneously lock like this? Just to be clear. I was holding my phone and had not been prompted to enter in my passcode. It is possible that my screen saver had come on, but the phone lock occurred before I had attempted to enter in my passcode. No one else had physical access to my phone at this time.
Does anyone know why this would occur?
got a iphone x here from a old lady pleading me to get data off the phone.
the top half of the touch is dead but i'm hoping with reachability i can input the passcode to initiate a backup.
issue is. the phone is currently stuck on "iphone unavaible wait 14 minutes"
issue is the timer does not seem to go down at all..
even watching the clock go up but the timer never goes down. even after a bunch of reboots.
the iphone also seems to refuse to connect to a celluar connection.
everytime i reboot the phone. it goes back in time to 23:33 PM oddly enough (about 30 minutes from real time as of writing)
anyone got any idea's what's going on? i have the passcode here. so if i need to use checkra1n to inject a passcode that's fine by me. i just need to get a encrypted backup going on itunes and getting it on a duplicate iphone X.
thank you in advance for your advice!
During sometime today I must of accidently typed in my password wrong and it got set to try again in 15 minutes, i accidently entered it another time and then it got set to try again in an hour - this was around 2:10pm max. I went to class came out and its still on unavalible try again in 1 hour at around 3pm. Its now 4pm and its still saying iphone unavalible wait one hour.
What do I do?
I noticed it stuck at 1 hour it had been in my pocket and when I got home I left it on my desk just to come back to it saying 3 hours.. 3 hours go by and IT RESETS BACK TO 3 HOURS.. then I plugged it into charge and the time started skipping minutes decreasing and then it got stuck at like 1 hour 40 minutes so I did a hard boot just for it to back to 3 hours.
This phone is super ass btw and the screen is ass and fragile
TF is going on? Can Apple fix this without me losing any data? will it magically fix???
Edit: left it on my desk overnight and it fixed
Hi,
So I just replaced an iPhone 6s Plus screen. While doing so, I unplugged the battery. I was wondering why after turning on the iPhone after changing the screen why there it says it's locked for 15 minutes. Could it be that there is an auto-lock setting turned on the phone? I am looking to factory reset it. Is there any way I can do it through iTunes on my computer so that the lock goes away.
Thanks!
My dad recently had this issue where it says his iPhone is unavailable and said he needs to reset it. He went running and he said Spotify kept randomly turning on. Later, it said iPhone unavailable and told him to wait 15 minutes, very similar to the security lock screen. When the 15 minutes was up, it simply told him iPhone unavailable and said to reset his phone(it actually said iPhone不可用 because his language is set to Chinese, but that translates to unavailable). There was no way out of this screen as well, only the emergency but and reset iPhone button. When I tried restarting the phone, it gave me the same screen and 15 minute wait again.
If it matters, he has an iPhone 13 pro max with 1tb storage, and hasn't yet updated to iOS 16, but I'm pretty sure he has the latest iOS 15.
