The 13 and 14 both have the same A15 Bionic chip. The iPhone 14 has 2 additional GB of RAM and an extra GPU core. Aside from this and crash detection, there’s not much of a difference. The 13 is cheaper, go with it. More on reddit.com

The specs are going to jump in almost every single way possible. You really do have to recognize what you enjoy most about your phone in order to properly answer that question, however. For example, I upgraded from the 11 to 12 pro and found that there were several aspects of the upgrade which I DIDN’T like. Most notably, the ergonomics of the 12 pro [heavy/dense- adding a case only worsened the issue, sharp edges that dug into my hard otherwise, the battery was less than stellar]. I think people have become so mesmerized by phone specs these days. I also think we’ve crossed a threshold of fast enough, bright enough, enough battery life, good enough camera, etc for the average user a couple years ago. My personal advice would be to spend a lot of time trying out the 13 at the apple store (if possible). Or waiting before you trade in your XR to determine if the day to day living experience is truly a worthy upgrade. More on reddit.com
