My mom is wanting to get her cracked iPhone XS Max screen replaced and was wondering around how much it is to do so. Also recommendations for where to get them replaced would be great!
I want to try my hand at replacing iPhone XS screen and I been doing some reading up on the net on how to do it. Look simple enough but there seems to be different type of screen LCD, Hard OLED and Soft OLED.
I am leaning toward to Soft OLED but there so many different brand and everyone know that reviews are often fillers. Can anyone recommend a brand to check out on?

Where's the best place to find an oem replacement? I've looked and saw there was LCD and soft/hard OLED replacements for a lot cheaper but I figure I might as well go for the OEM unless someone can recommend a reputable 3rd party display that would be fine. Ideally looking for OEM at around $140ish if possible
Looking to replace a completely spiderwebbed display on an iphone xs max, the picture is still good under the glass. How much should I expect to pay for this and can I do it myself as a complete novice?
The shell or case may need bent a bit straighter as well, apple refused to repair it and wanted almost $700 for a replacement refurb model.
I don't really care if it isn't perfect I just want a good screen on it to use it as a back up phone. It's a 512gb model and still works great aside from the screen damage.
I recently got my hands on a used iPhone from a friend. I was told it was an XR but it was actually an XS Max (not sure how you mix those up). Anyway, it had some water damage but still worked, and I was taking off the screen to allow the insides to fully dry. During this, a green pixel line popped up in the middle of the display, of course. I'm not sure if this was due to the heat applied to loosen the adhesive or just the suction force of trying to pry the screen up. Anyway, if it doesn't go away when I put it back together once it's dry, I'm going to need a new screen.
I refuse to buy an LCD screen, so I won't even consider those an option. I noticed eBay has a few options for OLED screens, with varying pricing. They all seem to have decent return/warranty options. Is there anything to look for so I know I'm not buying a "junk" OLED replacement? I feel like the best option would be to buy an OEM screen but I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Thanks for the help, sorry if this is against the rules...I am just trying to get some information before I dump $100-$170 on a new screen! I tried looking at the vendorlist thing but not sure how that can be used to find specific screen sales or anything...
So my phone just fell on a corner and there's a sort of small bar of green light coming out when it turns on, as well as a black dot in the corner. After a conversation with my best friend chatgpt, I'm 99% sure it's just the screen that should be replaced. I'm thinking about taking it to a third party repair shop, I'm wondering if I should rely on them to have what I need to repair it as well as how much it should cost for their service.
From my research, get soft oled GX, only downsides are bigger bezels and lower brightness. What about other mfrs? I don't care about true tone.
I've already disassembled the phone because you can't turn off iPhone using only buttons, just restart it so your alarms go off all the time and even after hour of snoozing they were still going off... (disabled siri so couldn't use voice)
Has anyone here had replaced their XS Max screen with oem or off-brand replacement screens? I am trying to get mine replaced.
I am choosing between these brands: YK Suoer Oled, GX Soft Oled, or Smatt Spares lcd screen. Which of these have you tried using?
Any recommendations? Thanks!☺️🤘
Hey reddit! I need to have the screen on my xs max replaced (phone works, but no light on screen).
How big of a deal is it to stick with OEM parts (have apple repair) vs. just getting a soft OLED via a third party to save about 15%?
A good quality soft oled like gx or jk is pretty good as long as whoever’s doing it can transfer tru tone as well.
Where are you located? Should be able to recommend a reputable shop for you close by.
All should have to ask if they're using a soft OLED, FOG, or Refurbished and whether the have a screen programmer or not.
I went to a repair shop and they said that they would charge around 100 for a replacement screen for an iphone xs. I was curious and googled some replacement screens and I found a whole bunch for 20-40. I feel like this is too good to be true. Is it?
Hey guys how has your experience been with 3rd party screen repairs? I’ve got some cracks that I’ve been ignoring for the past few months partially because I didn’t want to invest more money on an old phone. But since I don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon, I found this retailer nearby who changed displays for a pretty reasonable price. Should I expect any issues with a 3rd party display? I’d love to hear you guys’ experiences.
I recently bought an ifixit screen repair kit to finally fix my iPhone XS Max. I’ve gotten to step 16 removing the display however I struggled while removing the 1.5mm screw and I’ve seen to have stripped it. (The Y000 head in the kit isn’t the greatest but I love that it’s magnetized) Is there anyway to keep going or are my fixit dreams dashed before I truly getting into my journey?

Am I better off doing it myself?
Everyone keeps quoting me at 250 and it’s killing me
Anyone has any good recommendations for XS max screen replacement?
I watched the video https://youtu.be/-He8fiH14CA
But noticed that “Bsz4uov” brand doesn’t have a screen replacement for XS max.
All recommendations are welcome. Thanks
I cracked my own screen. Yeah the guy who repairs phones as a part time job cracked his phone 😭. Been looking at replacement displays and can’t find any less than 250 bucks. Which is crazy expensive when previous models are less than 50. Yes I know it’s OLED but still. Anybody know of display that cost about 150?
