Answer (1 of 8): That’s relative. When the “Plus” screen was first introduced I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus. When it arrived I sent it back. I thought it was way too big and not only was I unable to hold a phone that big, I had no need for a screen that big.

September 18, 2018 - But if, like me, you’ve only ever used “small” iPhones like the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 or 5.8-inch iPhone X, you’re gonna either need to stop wearing skinny pants, get pants with bigger pockets (I hear cargo pants are trendy again), carry a purse or shoulder bag, or just deal with it. I thought I’d hate having the iPhone XS Max jutting out of my front pocket (no back-pocketing for me since I don’t want to make it easy for pickpockets to nab a $1,100+ phone), but after a few days I didn’t mind it. If the size really was such a turnoff, nobody would’ve bought the Plus-sized iPhones and Apple would only be making smaller phones today.

October 17, 2018 - It also means backs can now shatter like the front but I guess that’s why some people stick their phone in a case. The edges are stainless steel which sounds cool, but is more prone to scratches when compared to aluminum. That said you can polish scratches out of stainless steel. Size-wise, the Max is about the same height as the iPhone 6, 7 and 8 Plus models. while it’s just a tad narrower. As for the Galaxy S9+... They're about the same height, more or less as thin as each other. The Max is slightly wider. As for the X/XS the Max is just a larger version.

August 10, 2019 - On one hand, the screen size is perfect (and could even be bigger) for consuming content. On the other, it's about half an inch too wide to comfortably hold. But I've adjusted and have gotten used to it. Also, bigger screen = more manufacturing issues. I had to replace my first XS Max due to poor adhesive bonding, and I recommend checking yours for this issue as well. ... I haven’t had a single issue with mine. It’s a great phone. I just don’t know if my iPhone 11 should be the biggest size or not...
