My XS display looks terrible at low brightness compared to my X
Can't reproduce anything like this on my XS in a pitch black room, true tone off, night shift off, auto brightness off. Might be defective.

Guy who skinned his xs max red. Made some changes!
So someone commented a idea iron MK 3. So I changed the skin to just red in the back instead of wrapping around and removed the skin on the camera. And here it is I love the way it looks better then i did before.

I didnโt notice this on Friday night because I never set to the lowest brightness, but the next day I did. Apollo looks terrible, the pure black mode helps but the top & bottom bars just look so washed and orange... Media content such as dark grey photos and other apps are effected.
Tweetbot is used in the example as Iโm running Apollo beta on my XS, which currently has a bug with dark theme.
Anyone else have this problem? Compared to my X, the display looks better under full brightness, but at the lowest itโs pretty hard to look at.
Edit: thanks everyone, gonna see if I can get mine replaced. I donโt have any Apple stores nearby, so Iโll likely have to do an AppleCare express replacement.

Thats a significant difference. Blacks on OLED are hands down the easiest thing that this phone has to do.
I have just moved from an X to an Xs Max, and black text on websites such as Reddit now looks grey.
Warranty doesn't worry me so I will wait to see if the next iOS update addresses it. But in your situation I would definitely arrange a return. The whole display seems a little "off"
