I've just tried Amazon Music while out for a walk after not using it for quite a while.
What the hell is going on? First it seemed I can't have downloaded music on my phone so I had to burn cellular data to listen to music away from home, and now I can't even play my playlists? I can't believe I need to have premium to play a playlist?!
Is this for real? Starting to think this isn't the plan for me.
3:30 am eastern time.
Is amazon down? Not loading 90% of the items, and the ones it does load, it's not showing the price.
Can't checkout, or do anything. Tried on laptop and device. Anyone else facing this issue?
UPDATE: status shows that's it's been down for more than 1 hours and still going......

Originally it was a perk for prime members.
Then it got a new Tier Called "Music Unlimited" prime members had access to most music but some newer albums were "unlimited only"
Then it became random albums on a shuffle, and then older albums, and then just the majority of albums.
Then the ads started. Every. Single. Time. You open the app you'd get an ad telling you to try unlimited. When you finally DO try unlimited it doesn't stop the ads it changes them to ads for Unlimited Family Plan!
I'M THE ONLY ONE USING THE APP I DONT NEED A FAMILY PLAN that was the annoyance that made me cancel my unlimited subscription. Even paying them monthly I was being given an ad every time I opened the app.
Now I see that they changed it while I had unlimited so that without unlimited you can't play an album directly you can ONLY do a "shuffle similar" aka "make radio from"
What reason does anyone have to use Amazon Prime Music instead of Spotify now? It's a worse experience, a buggier app, and it's no longer a value add to an existing prime membership.
Nothing I try to play is playing correctly. If you search for anything, and drill down into an album and click on a song, it plays the WRONG song!
I have Amazon prime, and I've been using amazing music for a long time. But it's been over a year ago since a lot of songs don't play any more, I just get the message "playback failed", and it will happen for most songs in an playlists, or most episodes in a podcast. This is happening over multiple devices (my old phone, the new phone, my computer, work laptop).
Could it be something with my account?
I'm starting to think they are phasing out the amazing music feature.
Shutting down the application and restarting the phone does not help. Hope someone has something else up their sleeve.
Thanks for any tips.
Maybe this is a first world problem sort of thing, but Jesus H Christ this app is horrible. The amount of issues are endless. Constantly changing the app and locations of things. ‘Shuffled’ playlists are the same 8 songs played over and over. ‘You’ve been listening for awhile, are you still there?’, every 30 minutes or ten songs or whatever it is. Can’t search for a specific song and artist, it’s one or the other, and hope it shows up. I get they are trying to push people to pay for unlimited, but who in their right mind would sign up for unlimited when the experience is so shitty with the regular version? Why say prime comes with music when it’s barely functional? Maybe if unlimited was an add on to prime at a discount it would be worth it, but paying full price for both is a joke
Been using it for 5+ years and finally switched to spotify today; The bugs just got worse and worse and I'm so fed up with songs just dissappearing from my playlists, shuffling not working, the app just freezing/stopping to work for no reason, the sorting mechanisms not working and so much more.. I'm usually not picky at that kinda thing but its just too many flaws to ignore!!
I was able to get it to play one podcast. But any song I try to play it just says it's playing but the time sticks at 00:00. It just never starts playing the song.
