This is a "say I've never shopped on black Friday without saying I've never shopped on black Friday" moment lol. The deals have already started. By the time BF rolls around a lot of the desirable stuff will be gone. Cyber monday only ever existed to sell off things that did not sell on Friday. So the less desirable or severely over stocked items. "Waiting for cyber monday" is like waiting for the morning after a party to arrive. If you're not already shopping around and tracking prices you're gonna have a bad time. You would have to recognize a good price before it sells out and you can't rely on retailer discounts because they always increase price by 100% before reducing it by 50% to trick people who don't know the real prices. you should buy it now as long as you have 30 day free returns. come black friday or cyber money, the product might be cheaper but that is when you go to customer service and be like "can i get refunded the price difference? if not, i would like to return this product". i think this is why companies have been putting sales on their items since the end of october or beginning of november. they have no incentive to keep to sales strictly to black friday or cyber monday if their big annual sale can come early.

November 28, 2025 - I used to love the whole Black Friday rush, but now the idea of standing in line at 5 AM feels… unnecessary when I can get the same (or sometimes better) deals from my couch. Majority stores already have “Black Friday” deals but is that the final price or will there be more saving on the day of Black Friday? What about cyber Monday?
Right now things are on sale but if I can get them cheaper I want to. Anyone have insight in this?

If you haven't been tracking prices on what you want for a few months before you have no way of knowing if something is a 'deal' or not. I've seen prices rise 25% in the past week on some stuff I've been wanting so those 'deals' are going to have to be good to get it back to the pre-holiday markup prices.

Now’adays? Absolutely not. They raise the price weeks before and then slash it on black friday and claim its “ON SALE”

Black Friday vs. Cyber Monday Deals – Nationwide
Retailers tend to offer deep discounts on select categories on either Black Friday or Cyber Monday, which means it’s worth your while to strategize a bit. Instead of buying the latest and greatest electronics, pajama sets, and must-have toys on the same day, you’ll want to plan ahead.

So yeah, which one is better? Does it depend on what type of items I buy (e.g. clothes or electronics)? Any personal experiences you can share if you experienced both?

Electronics on Cyber Monday. Everything else on Black Friday. If you really need (or want) something (like a laptop or blu ray player), buy it Black Friday, but don't open it until after you check the Cyber Monday deals. Return Black Friday purchase if better price is found Monday.

My advice is to not fall in the trap of the low prices IF you don't need something. If you needed it before black friday and cyber monday, then this is the best time to get it. But the reason stores make money these days is because people see a low price and impulse buy. Don't impulse buy, plan carefully.
