If TSH was Low and T4 and T3 were Normal that would be subclinical hyperthyroidism. I went in and out of subclinical hyperthyroidism for about 20 years before I finally became clinically hyperthyroid (Low TSH, High T4). I took methimazole for four years and am currently in remission with normal range TSI Graves antibodies. For me, Graves Disease has a mind of its own. It can end your life if you don't get it treated. My GP missed the signs/symptoms and test results, and I've been untreated for a years (on treatment now) and I ended up in a v bad way and now have heart problems (in part due to the increased heart rate). The only way to cure graves is non-traditional cure awith TT. It’s not traditionally defined as a cure because you have to take medication afterwards, but with Graves it’s the closest thing with today’s research that we can get. I had 2 pregnancies and babies with Graves. One I was hyper and my second put me into remission (which is more common). I absolutely would not recommend having Graves and having kids. Having babies, especially when they’re little, has really intense periods of stress that is exasperated by Graves. Having a tiny baby scream at you for hours, when you’re running on 4-hours sleep, often isolated and recovering from the physical and mental ordeal of pregnancy, labour, childbirth and then post-partum, not at all fun with Graves. I have now had my TT and my capacity to cope is ten times what it was before. I can run on now 6-hours interrupted sleep, I can usually tolerate quite a lot of toddler tantrums before I get grumpy and these days I find my husband quite pleasant to be around! My advice would be to get yourself in a really good, healthy place and then go for it. I would not at all advise starting the process when you’re already sick. Good luck - kids are (mostly) great! I am sorry you're going through this. 2025? You sure you can't get another referral? Forgive me, I am unfamiliar with the Irish Healthcare system. I was officially diagnosed about 3 months ago. I was given 30mg Methimazole in the morning. 2 weeks later, I had a terrible rash all over. My endo said that I can't treat it with meds so TT or RAI are my only options. Some people say that they can manage rashes with anti histamines, but that didn't seem to be the case for me. I took large doses daily and didn't have improvement for almost a week. 3 weeks for the rash to be 100% done. I have a TT consultation this week. While I was officially diagnosed recently, I suspect my thyroid has been slowly failing over 2 years. I had a bunch of symptoms come up suddenly with no explanation, but my labs were normal.
