i wonder how many people realise that its not getting deleted? i think everyone should definitely ask for this to be fixed
Every single grok imagine generated videos and their uploaded images are publicly accessible for anyone with a link. There is no option for the user to turn link sharing off and there is no option for the user to delete the entry as well.
such a wierd choice to make it this way i guess...

Is Grok Imagine free?
As of now, Grok Imagine is temporarily open for free use. However, it was originally a feature for SuperGrok and Premium+ subscribers, so this free access period may only be temporary.
What is Grok Imagine AI?
Grok Imagine AI is an AI-powered image and short video generation platform developed by xAI, the company founded by Elon Musk. It transforms text, images, or even voice inputs into dynamic videos with realistic motion, sound, and effects — ideal for creating memes, viral clips, or creative social media content.
How do you access Grok Imagine?
You can access Grok Imagine through the Grok App. Download the app, log in, and tap the “Imagine” tab to start generating AI images or videos. The feature is currently available in several regions and supports both text and image inputs.
Hi! I was hoping to clear this doubt.. I would like to know if the videos generated on grok are private.
If the user does not share the link, it is ok right?
Or could anyone has acces to the videos or images generated in the account
Hi r/grok,
All grok imagine posts are public by default.
There is concept of liking and deleting the post.
When you create the post, the post is automatically liked.
When you unlike the post it just says: "liked": false.
Post is still there (even after months) And this is a huge thing.
After reverse engineering, I got to know that if you hit /delete endpoint with proper body, it actually deletes the post, not sure about the file on server but post is deleted from database and the url is not accessible anymore.
I've deleted all my posts from past with a simple script.
Also, there is an endpoint to get list of all posts (liked + unliked both). So using these 2 endpoints this grok privacy issue can be fixed.
LMK if I should create a chrome extension for it. I don't want to waste time building if you don't need it.
Also, I found that I can use supergrok without paying. ;p (yes, just api changes and it works)
Also, NSFW mode on uploads is different and on grok generated is different, so moderation checks can be halucinated by updating payload for the new one.
I know a lot of unkowns in this post, but lmk I'm open to share everything.

Edit 3: Chrome extension launched: Check youtube video description. Also I'd appreciate a subscribe or like for this work!
Edit 4: Search: "site:grok.com" on google and go to images to view all publicly crawled images shared somewhere.
Edit 5: People saying public CDN links are working, here is a good news for everyone!
https://imagine-public.x.ai/imagine-public/share-images/510caa5a-b8ba-488f-84fe-fe3ecc1358af
is not accessible as it was deleted a few days ago

the image is removed from storage after a few hours.

We all know that images uploaded to Grok Imagine (and the related videos) become publicly accessible via a link. The only way to delete these images/videos/links is to delete your Grok account. Your traces are now gone.
However, there is some speculation that, as long as your Grok account is active, your links can be stumbled upon by others without you sharing a link. How likely is this?
I have noticed that the main Imagine page will sometimes show my favorites but whenever I browse that same page with a different Grok account, I don't see them. I am curious: if I never share my Imagine links, is it possible that:
they will appear on the main Grok page for other users to favorite?
they will be searchable by the keywords of the video?
Does anyone have any insight on this?
As of now, there's no option to delete images you upload on Grok Imagine, and the same indexing issue ChatGPT faced with chat sharing is there in imagine too.
Avoid sharing any personal images you don't want to risk sharing to any random person on the internet.
Grok Imagine is a fascinating tool, but hope they fix this soon, otherwise literally anyone can access anyone's Imagine chat without their knowledge.
See image attached to this post for context.
EDIT:
To test this yourselves:
Upload your image on Imagine.
Copy the generated URL.
Un-favorite your posts in your account (here the illusion of delete kicks in).
Open the copied URL in private browsing / any device.
You still see the post, which eventually CAN be indexed by engines. I am not saying it will, but why to even risk it?
Also try the same query in DuckDuckGo - there are different set of results.
Was about to download this after hearing good things until I noticed the privacy policy. Feel like people should know the app collects your personal data and its LINKED TO YOU, not anonymous. This is on the app page.
So then I looked at the grok.ai website. Here is what Grok collects from you:
-User data linked to you: Name, contact information, education, employment, employment history, and financial information
-Internet Activity: Browsing history, search history, online behavior, interest data, and interactions with our and other websites, applications, systems, and advertisements
-Geospatial location: your IP address
———————🙃——————— The privacy page says they ~try~ to keep your data safe but there is no guarantee 🤭 It also says it might sell your outside of the United States and they are not responsible for any damages from third parties, including from hackers or cyber criminals.
This is a data breach waiting to happen or your information will be sold to the highest bidder.
Just thought you should know. “Use at your own risk” (from the website).
I urge you to use a VPN and an incognito browser before you visit this site. I have a vpn and even then I had to remove the many web beacons that are not deleted when you remove cookies. These are tied to your IP address. Any link you click will collect your data if not browsing private.
