The iPhone 11 does not support 5G. Not with Verizon, not with AT&T. But AT&T, as a marketing gimmick, calls MIMO LTE (multichannel) “5Ge”. is is not true 5G, and verges on being a scam, but it is faster than plain vanilla LTE.

r/verizon on Reddit: iPhone 11 connectivity and service issues on Verizon
May 12, 2022 -

We have had Verizon (except for one week when we switched to Google) for about 20 years and in those twenty years we have lived in the same house and had experienced excellent cellular service. We never had dropped calls or had any issues with connectivity.

In the last year our service on our iPhone 11s has just sucked. Both my husband and I have dropped calls multiple times per week, in some places in our house on the main floor next to windows we have one bar of service where we are unable to make or receive calls and wifi calling does not work. We live in a regular neighborhood where there are no mountains, there has been no construction of large buildings and in the last 20 years, except people moving, there have been no major changes.

My question is this: could the shutdown of the 3G network be impacting our service? If not, what in the world is going on? We do not have access to 5G at our house both because our phones obviously do not get 5G service but also because Verizon does not offer 5G in our neighborhood.

Thanks in advance for any information that can be provided.
