It's all good. The half-life of T4 is approximately 1 week, which is why they test after 4 to 6 weeks with a dose change. Normally if you miss you can take it when you remember and continue as normal or double the next dose. If you arent sure you can also just keep your meds as normal and not fret. In the long run it really won't matter much at all it is more about consistency of taking meds. Get a system that works for you like a pill case or I stand mine up at night and lie it down in the morning when I take mine. Deep breathes and keep on keepin' on :) Answer from GWAE_Zodiac on reddit.com

I don’t know why I’m stressing so much but, will my TSH go up again? Should I worry about anything? I’ve been consistent otherwise, but lately I’m having some memory lapses and I’m not sure whether I took it this morning or not… I don’t want to take a possible double dose. I’m asking you what you think from personal experience as my endocrinologist is not available in weekends but I need to calm down… My best regards and thank you in advance!

One day missed will not change much. I would just take your pill normally the next day. Once I was out of pills and was unable to get them filled right away. It took about a week of no pills before I started having symptoms return. Then it took about a week back on my pills to feel better again. It wasn't dire.

Given the long half-life, there typically wouldn’t be quick effects, even if your instructions aren’t to make the missed doses up.

There is such a long half-life that missing 2 days won’t have much of an impact. What dose are you on? My endo has always told me to take my missed dose as soon as I realize it. I probably wouldn’t take 3 pills one day, but would double up 2 days in a row so my total weekly dose is the same. I found using a weekly pill dispenser to be helpful. To answer your questions: yes, this happens ALL the time. No, it is not dangerous so long as you don’t make a super regular habit of missing doses.
