Personally only played ER, Sekiro, and LOP.
If it was up to me, I would probably put Sekiro #1, LOP #2, and ER #3. Got no knowledge of other games.
But LOP has bosses that took me more time than any other boss in Sekiro, though, particularly the Swamp Monster.

So I am not very good at Soulslike games, in fact Lies of P is in the strict sense only one I played, unless you count Jedi Survivor and Witcher, which have some same elements but are not quite the same thing. Anyway, I am currently playing Lies of P, and I like it, but I am not great at it lol, I was struggling quite bit on Fuoco for example. So I thought when I beat game, maybe I want to try Elden Ring as I heared it has very long story, and that it is great, but I was curious just how hard it generally is compared to Lies of P and how similar two games really are?
I’ve beaten Elden ring and there were some bosses I struggled a little on, but I just took a break, analyzed their moves and went back. After multiple tries I was able to beat them (Malaenia included). I am currently playing sekiro and do not have MUCH trouble with the game, there are some bosses I need to do multiple attempts for, but nothing crazy. I have seen people say that this game is REALLY hard and even harder than Elden ring. These 2 are he only souls-like games I have ever played so I am wondering if this game is going to be too difficult for me (hair ripping difficult) and I end up giving up. I have no problem using summons.
Guys, I want to try (again) to beat a souls-like game. I tried 3 times in the past to play DS1, I didn't enjoy it, but because people said to start with it because if I managed to beat it, I would beat the others. But idk, the atmosphere didn't grab me, I thought it was an ugly game.
I wanted to beat one outside the Dark Souls line
I know there's Sekiro, Nioh and other games that must exist and I don't know
I mentioned the two in the title because those are the ones I was doubting today, but recommend souls-like games for someone who has never beaten any and that are not DS.
It can be any other besides the ones I mentioned!
Elden Ring and Lies of P are both difficult games, Elden Ring is a very long open world game, Lies of P is a short linear game with 11 chapters. Both are very hard. I beat Elden Ring first and I believe it is the tougher game out of the two, based on my personal experience with the game. I've had the hardest time beating Elden Ring it took up to 10 days each playthrough. Lies of P was tough too, but not quite like Elden Ring. Lies of P was very short in comparison, it only took up to 5 days each playthrough. Both Elden Ring and Lies of P are two of my favorite Souls games. By Fromsoftware and Neowiz respectively.
First post here, thinking about my (potential) first soulslike game. I've played other RPGs that imo have some degree of similarity - Ghost of Tsushima, Breath of the Wild, etc.
And now, I've gotten my eye on some of the tougher stuff! I have heard Elden Ring is a good introduction to soulslike games. Open world, summons, build variety, the whole nine yards. Seems like a no-brainer. And yet... Lies of P seems way more interesting, themes and gameplay wise. Custom weaponry and mechanical arms are just far more my jam.
I, however, don't quite know if getting either game would be a good call. I have tried Demon's Souls on PS+ for... an hour, I think? Wasn't my thing at all, I think because of the tutorial. Maybe I just got confused.
So now I ask y'all - do you think either game would be better than my DS experience, or do you think I'd just be tossing money to have a similar experience?
Idk if it’s just because of my play style or because I learned the mechanics from lies of P, but Elden ring seems much more fair and easy than Lies of P.
