So I was canceling my subscription for the plus plan they asked me a question "How disappointed will you be if you could no longer use the free version of ChatGPT?"
Attaching a picture below.
It is crazy for me to believe the platform I've been using for the last couple of years will take away the free version or are even considering it!!

It's worded that way to make you think twice about quitting. The free version isn't going away, it's their best marketing tool.

They are in the growth phase. They don't mind burning money in exchange for growth. At a later point in the company's life cycle once growth diminishes profitability will start to matter to the shareholders. That's when they might take away the free version if at all. Or introduce ads. Just look at Amazon prime or Netflix. Didn't have ads in the beginning but now they do.
