First of all thanks for your product. It works perfectly in Russia - something that not all VPNs can do. Yet after opening your page in the browser my Avast antivirus gave me a threat warning:

I stumbled on Planet VPN a few days ago while trying to get around the blocked news sites on my school WiFi. The campus filters are strict and I was tired of messing with random proxy sites, so when I saw someone mention Planet VPN in a smaller Reddit thread, I figured I’d try it since it doesn’t even make you create an account.

I added the browser extension, connected to a Canada server, and it worked right away. All the blocked sites loaded with no issues, and the speed was decent enough for reading and even watching videos in 720p. The thing that surprised me most was how clean it felt. No constant upgrade nags and no weird ads popping up like a lot of other free VPNs I’ve used.

I wouldn’t rely on it for gaming or anything heavy, but for basic browsing and getting around school WiFi restrictions, it’s been pretty reliable. Curious if anyone has used it for a longer stretch and how safe it feels over time.

It is being made through my debit card. The first time this occurred, I contacted my bank, confirmed that once the charge goes through they need to reverse it. I do not use Planet VPN or any VPN. I don’t have a computer. The charge was made through my debit card and I only use my credit cards. I canceled that debit card and got issued a new one. During that month, I didn’t have mobile banking. They also stated they would make a cease letter or contact the seller so they can no longer charge me.

Sure enough, this month, I have the same charge for $9.99 on my NEW debit card, a brand new number! My checking only has $18.00 and I’m not going to risk ever overdrafting because of this. I don’t ever use my debit cards, I use credit cards and pay them off. Even when I google Planet VPN, it appears there are many? I don’t even know which one has charged me or how because I don’t have any accounts…. I’ll be contacting to get this taken off tomorrow when it applies but what can I do? Thanks in advance.

Since we get a lot of asking for VPN provider recommendations, we're making this megathread a bimonthly occurrence (you'll find the newest one at the top subreddit menu). It's a chance for you to ask for or recommend your favorite provider.

When recommending a provider, you must mention at least a couple points for why you prefer it. Don't just list VPN features that are common knowledge - explain why you chose it. Lately, I've been coming across mentions of Planet VPN, and not in the most positive light. And that makes me wonder - how many out there are actually using this service? And why?

Firstly, a moment of reality check: You get what you pay for. While free VPNs like Planet VPN might seem enticing, there's a significant trade-off. Many of these so-called "free" services often come at the cost of your data. Remember, if you're not paying for the product, you are the product.

The only exception I've found in the realm of free VPNs is Proton VPN, which seems to have built up a relatively trustworthy reputation over the years.

That said, if you're genuinely concerned about your online privacy and need a good VPN service with speed, multiple server options, and the capability to stream without hiccups, it's better to invest a few bucks. Services like PIA have plans starting at around $2 a month. Let's put that into perspective: That's less than your daily coffee. If privacy and security are priorities for you (as they should be), then this small investment is worth it.

Can’t find an actually good one

So I last year I sued planet VPN in China and it worked perfectly and this year I'm flying to China again to see my relatives so I wanted to ask: Does planet VPN still work in China??
