Is it easily trackable by the government like Snapchat and meta apps, or is it like telegram, ( not sure but I hear alot that telegram is pretty solid on privacy )

Having the same account, spanning multiple subreddits, spanning your entire lifetime is bound to get you doxxed eventually right? Is it common to use alias accounts for different purposes? I usually refrain from making meaningful (to me) public posts for these reasons across all websites

I recently saw an Indian media story exposing a student who took undue advantage of a American University. He made a post on reddit explaining what he did and how he did it. In the post, I do not think he mentioned any personal information, yet they were able to link everything back to him. It could simply be the fact that someone read it that was involved. But what if that's not the case.

Most of the people on reddit are probably not like him. However it begs the question of whether we are safe to criticize on a public platform.

I read and heard this claim a lot.

This might be a very basic question for this space, please let me know if I should post it elsewhere. What measures do folks take to keep their Reddit account/persona secure/private? I can think of disabling notifications on Lock Screen and not posting identifying information but I’m sure there’s gotta be more to it than that.

I want to participate more freely but always worried that my identity will be disclosed and I can be exposed to people who might not make me feel safe, potential employers, homophobic/transphobic family members, etc.
