Happened to be in a furniture store yesterday and was impressed by the Stickley furniture they had. Of course there was the usual Morris chair "arts and crafts" type stuff and that seemed the most solid made of that ilk I've seen. But the "Metropolitian" line seemed nice also...solid cherry... Stickley manufactures excellent quality furniture but thst is their value as it is the original stuff thst is collectible and not the newer stuff. These chairs would have been expensive when purchased but at this point, they aren’t particularly valuable. Colonial Revival isn’t super popular so you wouid need to find someone with very traditional tastes who also likes the current material since reupholstery is expensive. Their "value" or "worth" is as very high quality chairs but not in the sense that original Stickley from the turn of the century is collectible and valuable - although less valuable than it was a decade ago because it has become less popular If there is anyway you can use them, I wouid keep them since the amount of money you would get wouid be far less than it would cost to purchase new good quality chairs. These probably aren’t the Williamsburg licensed but from the earlier time which wouid have been no earlier than the 1970’s Colonial WilliamsburgCherry Valley was Stickley’s preeminent line for decades. After Alfred and Aminy Audi bought the company in 1974, they slowly began to expand its Colonial Revival offerings to include styles specific to Boston, Philadelphia, and other urban centers.
