When I place an order with walmart, lots of times the items are not available to be shipped to my home. Sometimes the same items are shipped to my home. It’s not third party items, just regular stuff.( bounty, tp, etc). I live 10 miles from the store, if that matters. If I get walmart plus, will they start shipping them to my house, or will I have the same problem? If I get walmart plus, will they deliver cold/frozen items? Thanks.
Do not subscribe to this nonsense, even if they give you a discount. The only point of the program is to get you to buy more stuff in order to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth on the membership. They will rip you off with high prices on poor quality merchandise, make it difficult to cancel, and give you rude treatment. Terrible subscription, even Amazon prime is better because they actually give you what you signed up for, although I have cancelled that too.

I have bought things from Walmart online on occasion, and was thinking about signing up for Walmart+ to get free shipping. My question to those of you who use Walmart+, are most items, like clothing, shipped free?
I know that you can get groceries delivered with it, but I am not really interested in that as I like to do my own grocery shopping most of the time.
So, would it be worth it to get Walmart+ if I am mainly using it like an Amazon type delivery service, for clothing and other items?
**UPDATED POST** Thank you all for your opinions. I will probably just wait until a promo price comes around, or if anything I will wait until I buy over $35 worth of items. You all have been been very helpful. I appreciate it!
Hope this isn't a big repeat, but I tried searching for this question and didn't find an answer. Too many posts about Walmart in general, I suppose.
I just signed up for a month of Walmart Plus ($12.95) because it was kind of a no brainer for a one time thing. I was ordering groceries for delivery anyway (ran out of time today) and I received a $10 promo code, free delivery (7.95), and a "premium" delivery slot (6pm instead of 8pm). I figured I saved myself $5. Not a big deal and there is a note on my calendar to cancel.
Do any of you guys actually use Walmart Plus? Do you like it? Do you find that it's a good value and you actually use it? Is the order picking usually fairly accurate? Are there any "hidden" benefits other than the free delivery?
Also, I was somewhat confused about the gas discount thing. The wording was kind of confusing. Is that $0.10 off at Walmart but regular price at Sam's? I already have a Sam's membership and typically fill up there anyway. Don't know if I would really be gaining anything there.
Starting in September, I read Paramount+ essential subscription is going to become part of it as well, which is something like a $60 value. So if you already subscribe or have been thinking about it, that's a pretty decent benefit!
Yes I've been using it for years. I also have the Walmart credit card and apply the points to my grocery bills. It adds up quickly. I don't have to pay for shipping and it saves me so much time shopping in the store to be able to use the pickup service. I have a chronically ill child at home so the less time I have to spend navigating the hellscape of Walmart, the better.
It’s 98 a year, 50 WM bucks free, free delivery over $35 . Earn WM bucks. We live in a smaller city and don’t have much choice in places. Unlimited delivery etc. we’re really liking so far.
I canceled my Amazon Prime membership last year and switched to WalMart+. They have most of what I need to get online and I can get groceries delivered, so I figured it would be a better fit.
I was wrong.
The WalMart+ service has been nothing short of terrible. Half of the time, my groceries are delivered late (they ask you for a 2 hour window when you want them delivered), and I have to change my plans. Sometimes my packages are delivered to the wrong apartment, sometimes to the wrong building entirely. Sometimes they claim that they can't find the building (it's an 11 floor apartment building with giant numbers on the front, and Amazon, UPS, FedEx, and DHL never have issues delivering). Sometimes I order something to be shipped from the warehouse and they tell me that they can't because it's not available at the local store, which is irrelevant. I specifically asked for it to be shipped from the warehouse because that's where they said that they had the item, but they switched it to the store delivery and then tell me that they don't have it? What's that about?
I placed a grocery order on Saturday for groceries to be delivered on Sunday between 7A-9A. At 9:30A, I contacted support to find out where they were, since I had to leave the house by 10:30A. They said that the driver had returned to the store. I wasn't notified, I wasn't given any information. I asked them to cancel the order and refund my money and they said that they would. I checked today, and the order is still showing as "delayed," so I contacted support again. They said that I have to wait another 24 hours to request a refund. I've already bought all of the groceries that were in that order, and now I'm wasting time going back and forth with support, trying to get a refund.
I'm very tempted to do a chargeback on this purchase.
So, if you're thinking about getting WalMart+ to save some money, you will definitely save some money. But you will also waste a lot of time dealing with their customer support team, who will constantly remind you that "you are a valued member."
I just had surgery and needed some gear to handle my post-op care quickly to prevent another issue. Amazon post-thanksgiving has been quoting me at 2-3 days+. I looked for what I wanted on Walmart+ and had everything delivered in 90 minutes without shipping costs. 12/10 I'm gonna use Walmart more if I can
I used to live in an area with Walmarts and serviced by Walmart grocery delivery. I was able to save a lot of money on grocery and home goods. Now I live in an area without any Walmarts. I do have a free trial for Walmart+, so I get free shipping, but delivery or pickup is not possible.
Is Walmart+ a good way to save money on any goods if my only option is (free) shipping? I did a comparison of a handful of grocery, pantry, or other home goods with the local Target that delivers, and Target store delivery was cheaper for every item. I found that surprising!
Do you buy anything on Walmart+ via shipping that you can't buy cheaper elsewhere? Thanks!
edit: I appreciate all the responses, but I just want to clarify that I am only asking about goods that can be shipped. Thank you!
I tip decent but the delivery fee should be gone. Who is getting the delivery fee? If I'm spending $150a week on my people then I know there are others like me doing the same. Walmart is a rich corp who is taxing uncontrollably. I'm not ranting I'm just saying. They make )15 an hour and the ceo makes 50 k an hour. Make them pay and perhaps nobody would complain about wages. Add: in Louisiana the minimum wage is $7.25 not sure if there even get $15 an hour
I mean paratransit where I live is 3 dollars and 50 cents each way and you have to schedule at least a day in advance. I had to spend 7 bucks sometimes just to go get the one item. Now I can have it delivered the same day for just 2 dollars. It's awesome! I just wish I'd have known.
Sorry about the abundance of the word Just in this post. I'm exhausted but Had to share. Things are bound to vary in different places. However, it's worth looking into if needed.
Free grocery delivery. If, like me, Walmart is your only walkable grocery store, and by "walkable" I mean you'd still have to cross a very busy & dangerous double-lane, and you don't have a car... then yeah, the benefits are good.
I'll have a car somewhat soon I hope, but still, it's way cheaper than Amazon Prime, but Amazon has free shipping on most items anyway if you wait 2 - 3 extra days... obviously my groceries can't wait that long.
OBVIOUSLY, the best solution is to not have to spend in general. But if you're risking your safety or sanity on the daily just to eat... They have a huge discount on the annual membership rn, it looks like.
First of all, does walmart have any cash back things like target circle? As far as wm plus: What exactly does the free vet thing do? Can burger king discounts from wm plus be used on the deals on the bk app? Are the delivery drivers tipped and are they allowed to accept tips? What exactly comes with the auto care? How long does the half off walmart plus last? Does the half off only last a year? Do i need to pay all at once to only pay 50 dollars for the year? Also, how does the interest free payments work when u buy something and is there a limit how much you can buy? What are the punishments for missing a payment?
I kind of laughed at the Walmart credit when I first got the platinum card. It's not very "premium" and I don't really shop at Walmart.
Then, one day, I needed some stuff for my kids birthday, and only Walmart had it. And I could get it that afternoon (faster than Amazon prime) delivered to my door for free?
Now any time I'm short on time I can get free delivery of staples like cat litter, trash bags, napkins, detergent... the kinds of things you don't realize you need until you're out and don't really justify a trip to the store on their own.
If you haven't activated this benefit yet, I recommend it.
With Black Friday 2024 just around the corner, you may be considering whether signing up for Walmart Plus is a smart move before the big sales start. Walmart Plus, a subscription service similar to Amazon Prime, offers several perks, and these benefits might make a significant difference during the holiday shopping rush... but it may not be for everyone. Let's take a look at Walmart Plus, its features, and why it could be beneficial to sign up ahead of Black Friday—especially since there will likely be a 50% off deal on an annual membership sometime in early in November.
What is Walmart Plus?
Walmart Plus is Walmart’s membership program, designed to offer shoppers convenience and savings across multiple areas. Launched in 2020, the service provides benefits both in-store and online, including free delivery, discounts on fuel, and access to exclusive deals. While it costs $98 per year or $12.95 per month, Walmart typically runs promotions—such as a 50% discount on an annual membership—ahead of major shopping events like Black Friday. This brings the yearly cost down to just $49, a significant saving for those thinking about joining.
Key Walmart Plus Features
Here’s a breakdown of Walmart Plus benefits and how they might be useful during Black Friday 2024 and beyond:
Exclusive Access to Deals: Walmart Plus members often receive early access to special sales. Last year, Walmart offered exclusive "members-only" deals during Black Friday events, giving Walmart Plus subscribers a 3-hour head start on grabbing popular items like gaming consoles, televisions, and other electronics before they sold out.
Free Shipping (No Minimum): One of the most attractive features of Walmart Plus is free shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase required. This is particularly useful during Black Friday, as it allows you to grab smaller deals without worrying about extra shipping costs. Unlike standard online orders, which often require a $35 minimum for free shipping, Walmart Plus members avoid this threshold entirely.
Free Same-Day Delivery: Walmart Plus offers free same-day delivery on groceries and other eligible items from your local store. For those looking to stock up on groceries or snag local deals without heading to the store, this feature can save both time and money. This perk extends to non-grocery items during Black Friday, which could make it easier to secure in-demand items like electronics and toys without dealing with in-store crowds.
Member Prices on Fuel: Walmart Plus members receive up to 10 cents per gallon off at more than 14,000 gas stations, including Walmart, Murphy USA, and Sam's Club stations. If you plan on traveling during the holiday season or driving from store to store on Black Friday, this fuel discount can quickly add up, helping you save money on the go.
Mobile Scan & Go: For those who prefer shopping in-store, Walmart Plus offers the Scan & Go feature, which allows members to scan their items with their phone while shopping. This helps avoid long checkout lines—especially useful during busy Black Friday shopping hours. Once you’re done shopping, you can quickly pay via the Walmart app and be on your way.
Comparison: Walmart Plus vs. Other Retail Memberships
To help decide whether Walmart Plus is worth it, it’s useful to compare it to other subscription services:
Walmart Plus vs. Amazon Prime: Amazon Prime offers similar benefits, including free shipping, streaming services, and exclusive access to deals. However, Walmart Plus focuses more on in-store benefits like grocery delivery and fuel discounts. While Prime costs more annually at $139, it includes additional perks like Prime Video. If you frequently shop in-store at Walmart and want groceries delivered, Walmart Plus may be the better choice.
Walmart Plus vs. Target Circle: Target Circle is a free loyalty program offering basic perks like 1% back on purchases and personalized deals. However, it doesn’t provide the extensive benefits of Walmart Plus, such as free delivery or fuel discounts.
Is Walmart Plus Worth It?
Whether Walmart Plus is worth it depends on your shopping habits and how much you use the benefits:
Frequent Walmart Shoppers: If you regularly shop at Walmart—especially for groceries—the free same-day delivery and shipping benefits can save you both time and money. The membership effectively pays for itself if you make regular small orders online, eliminating shipping fees.
Black Friday Enthusiasts: If you’re planning on shopping heavily during Black Friday, early access to deals and free shipping could give you an advantage over non-members. Considering the 50% off promotion, it may be worth signing up just for the holiday season just to make sure the deal you want to pick up doesn't sell out before you have a chance to buy it.
Fuel Discounts: For those who drive often or plan holiday road trips, the fuel discount offers another way to recoup the cost of the membership.
Wanted to share this from Walmart+. It is $12.95 a month or $6.47 if you are on Snap, WIC, Medicaid or other governmental programs. Paramount+ and Pluto are included. You also get 25% off a Burger King order each day and a free whopper every three months. You can get 10 cents off a gallon at participating gas stations too. Other benefits as well. Just wanted to pass this along in case it could help someone.
I have a offer from Walmart+ (or maybe they are running this for everyone) where I could get their annual membership and get $50 Walmart cash.
I already have Costco Executive membership and I like it so much, their online catalog is also very nice and I like the return policy. But I try to make it to Costco once a month.
I go to Walmart often to call dibs on the rollbacks and fresh produce until I go to Costco next month.
I was wondering if it would be worth getting the Walmart+ membership (with $50 walmart cash offer), any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
So have been thinking about switching. My prime ends in February. Is there a major difference between the two? Any personal experience on this? Are shipping times similar?
So I just discovered this offer from my platinum card. The issue is this way, it’s cheaper to pay annually than receiving monthly credit back from Amex platinum of $12.95 plus taxes. You only end up paying $49 plus taxes after paying $98 plus taxes. I find it cheaper paying annually than receiving monthly credit back from platinum. Does anyone use this offer yet? If you pay monthly, you end up paying around $169
