I ordered a couple of suits from J. Crew Factory because hey, I rarely wear suits but need one soon, and they’re good enough that with a bit of tailoring they’ll look amazing on you. Or at least they do on me with my body type.
Anyway, turns out that Apple Pay has a different shipping address label you have to change from the one you change on every other aspect of iOS (but that’s a rant for r/apple). I accidentally placed my order to my previous address. I naively thought that if I emailed them fast enough to let them know of the issue, they’d be able to change my shipping address and the problem would be sorted out. I mean, it’s 20 freakin’ 19 and these things happen on a fairly regular basis, right? Right?
You’d think so. Their response was that they cannot change the shipping address and that I should try to contact UPS to get it changed on their end (great, they’re known for their customer service, are they not?). I replied then saying that they should instead cancel my order. Again, they responded by telling me that they also cannot cancel an order and that I should contact UPS. So unless UPS comes through, I’m out $200 (and yes, the sale they have going on right now is absurdly good– I was able to find 2 suits for $200, one of which I planned to return after trying them both on).
So, if your customer service department can’t change an address on an order or process a cancelation... What good is a customer service department? I’m truly baffled as to what they CAN do...
Anyway, my male fashion advice for the day: Don’t shop at J. Crew Factory. On the off chance you need their customer service, you’ll be up shit’s creek without a paddle.
