Hi , I looking for current wearers of Jabra Enhance Pro 20 hearing aids from costco to share their experience of these hearing aids. Would you recommend them? What do you like about them? are there any problems you find with them. I currently wear hearing aids and am looking to replace mine. I have Moderate- Moderately severe hearing loss. Worse in the high frequencies. What stood out looking at these is the functionality of the App and the fact they are supposed to be good with voice intelligibility in noisy environments. The M&RIE receiver option sounds interesting too. What are peoples experiences with these. Thank you so much for your responses
BTW. I am from Maine, USA
I (27M) just had testing done at Costco and was diagnosed with reverse hearing loss. They recommended I get the Jabra Enhance Pro 20. I have my fitting on Monday. I was wondering what's everyone's experience with these HAs. I'm an Android user and from past posts I've noticed there's some connectivity issues with Android devices. Has this improved in the last 5 months?
Update: I really appreciate all the comments, you guys really talked me off the proverbial ledge with these things and I appreciate that a lot. I got a call back from costco late last night (literally right before they closed) and got an appointment for tonight right before they close. I think that they were really trying to work me in and they stay really busy at this location. I think that its probably a combination of things going on, me not being used to any of these new sounds, the tune not being quite right, and me just having a really bad day yesterday. That last one probably contributed a lot more than I give it credit for. I've got a list of things to talk about from all your comments and I'll see what we can do tonight and over the next month. I now fully expect to need more followups to get it really dialed in.
I have 40% hearing loss in my right ear. Its mostly that I can't hear speech when there is background noise at all. It just all blends into a pile of noise. My family notices it mostly when in the car, they all have to scream around me. I have been to a few ENTs that all agree the problem exists but they can't quite pinpoint the exact cause. They finally all agreed that hearing aids were the best move right now so I bought a pair and got them yesterday. I think the fitting went well and all that but I really didn't know what to expect or what to look out for and I have to say after having a few hours with them, if this is what hearing is supposed to be then I really don't want any part of it.
They are super tinny and they pick up every single noise. There is so much static. I don't want to be able to hear my hand going into my pocket. The streaming from my phone is abysmal (galaxy s24).
I tried creating some new sound profiles but they are only marginally better if at all and they all lack any bass. Not that I want to be in a dance club but I would like to listen to a movie without everyone sounding like chipmunks. And keyboards are the absolute worst. I am at a computer all day and every key press just makes me insane. I've read here that the closed domes can help a lot, is there something else I should be looking at as well?
I think what is the most frustrating is the overall inconvenience of the things. Ideally I would just pop them in and out as needed like a set of earbuds. I don't always need them and I only need it in my right ear which doesn't sit well with wearing glasses. I am also having a difficult time getting them in and out but I think I could learn to get better at that. I see that jabra has some hearing aid type earbuds but they only work with iphone and I will never own an iphone otherwise I would try them. I can't find anything else that seems legit and not some amazon junk.
Is this just how it is now? Do I need to just suck it up and get used to it? I called costco and am trying to get back in for a follow up but I typically don't hear back from them for at least a day or two.
