Jabra Enhance Select Hearing Aids Reviews
October 7, 2024 - Hands-free calling is a feature of the Jabra Select 200. Bluetooth is becoming more commonplace in the hearing aid industry but it’s taking time to implement (streaming protocols are relatively new and vary across smartphone platforms). DIY on Jabra Enhance Select 200 | Hearing Aid Talk
September 10, 2023 - I have the Jabra enhance select 200 OTC hearing aids. I bought these in January 2023. I went through 2 adjustment cycles with their online support, but still struggle with excessive feedback in one ear. I would like to make my own adjustments. I understand from other forums that these are rebranded ReSound Omnia, but the quality of that info is not at the level of what I read in DIY school 2.2.

r/HearingAids on Reddit: Do Jabra Enhance Select 200 have tinnitus masking?
January 6, 2023 -

I have spoken with two Jabra Enhance reps who gave me conflicting information. The first rep (who kept talking over me and also gave me some wrong information about my current hearing aids) assured me that the Jabra Enhance Select 200 do indeed have tinnitus masking and that it's completely adjustable within the app and includes multiple nature sounds... I asked about brown noise and white noise and she just talked over me and I didn't get a specific answer. I called back today with a couple of additional questions I'd thought of and got a different rep... while I had him on the phone I asked again about the tinnitus masking and whether brown and/or white noise were options... this 2nd rep said that none of their hearing aids have tinnitus masking.

I'm hoping some of you have these hearing aids and can answer the question from personal experience. Thanks in advance for any info!

I've been test-driving a pair of J's select 200's for 2 1/2 months and have talked to the people in the HA dept many times. I noticed right away that the select 200 manual claims (for 7 pages) that there is a tinnitus module built into the aids. During about 50% of my calls, the manual was called a work-in-progress or a piece of crap or the truth depending on who I got on the phone. A couple of 'audiologists' from there told me that the 200's have the module but that Jabra's firmware does NOT support it and leaves it disabled. This seems true. Costco has told me their model does not have the module. Resound says it does and if your audiologist enables it, then their software will use it instead of trying to stream a masking or more pleasant sound in your ears for your brain to try to make peace with. All of them say that if you manage to switch firmware or have an audiologist enable the module, that their proprietary firmware won't work anymore and you can't use them to download base-settings. I've got two weeks of testing left on these and might see if I can get someone to enable it. I realize masking doesn't actually fix anything, but I prefer a bit of 4K'sh noise mixed in (streaming right now) to make life slightly less jarring. The battery life on Jabra's HA's is so good (20-30 hours) that I'd rather the hearing aid did the heavy lifting of making the sound than my phone which runs out of battery way too quickly.

I talked about tinnitus with my audiologist, he explained that it is not a simple process since everyone is different. It requires multiple sessions and testing and adjustments, and even then results are marginal. While he is willing to undertake this expensive process, which isn’t covered by insurance, he thinks I’ll be disappointed with the results. Short story: it isn’t just a feature that you turn on
