r/HearingAids on Reddit: Costco hearing aid impressions Jabra Enhance Pro 20
February 1, 2025 -

I have had the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s for about 4 weeks now. I have the ITC option. Prior to this I wore costcos resound BTE option from 6 years ago. Not sure on the model. The resounds were great. I've worn hearing aids my whole life and the resound made me appreciate costcos option vs the audiologists I grew up with.

When I went last month for new hearing aids I wanted to try the Phillips after reading reviews here. The fitters convinced me to stay with Jabra since I had a good history with resounds. Y'all I hate these enhance pro 20's idk if it's me or the swap to ITC aids but I'm always getting feedback and ghost humming especially in small spaces like my car. Restaurants are just impossible now. I have played with app settings to turn down noise canceling or wind canceling and turn it up. I can't seem to fix the artificial sounds and humming. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else came across this. My fitter didn't have a ton of expirence but we got them sounding ok. I started off hating the high end and have been giving them a chance for the last month to see if my brain can adjust but it's just not going well. Anyone else have similar expirences with the Jabra enhance 20's? I'm not sure if settings can fix my issues or if I should return and try the Phillips I originally wanted.

February 23, 2020 - While some other hearing aids can rightfully claim they’re “Auracast-ready” (meaning they’re a firmware update away from use with Auracast), the Pro 20 and Pro 30s are the only truly “Auracast-ready-now” hearing aids sold at Costco. Through the Jabra Enhance Pro app, users can discover and connect with available Auracast broadcasts, thereby enhancing accessibility in public spaces, although these venues are still scarce. r/HearingAids on Reddit: My Jabra Enhance Pro 20's experience
April 19, 2024 -

I am a first time hearing aid wearer. After a couple of tests from a local independent provider and my audiologist, both big $$$$$'s I decided to get hearing aids. After much reading / shopping I decided to go with Costco. After walking the store with the Costco options I decided to go with the Jabra Enhance Pro 20's.

My first pair stopped picking up sounds, voices, etc. in a couple of weeks. Back to Costco, my hearing specialist was unable to make them work again and ordered a replacement set. When I picked up the replacement set I could hear again.

However, after a couple of weeks they too deteriorated to no sound and were essentially dead to all outside sounds. Back to Costco. This time the Senior specialist was on duty and took the hearing aids and said that it would take her about 20 minutes to test them. When she called me back to desk she told me that she had found a problem, been in contact with Jabra and that there was a manufacturing problem with my first pair that, based on serial numbers, should not have existed in the second pair.

I was ready to turn in the Jabra's, which I had had for less that 60 days and give the new Rexton Reach a try. the specialist asked if I would be willing to give Jabra a third try, which I agreed to. She set up a pair of demo units for me to use until the replacements came in. Anyone know if there is a date code in the serial#?

I noticed that the demo units work entirely different than either my original "new" pair or the replacements. Now when I change the program to "Hear In Noise" it actually makes a substantial difference in where noise / speech originates from as I turn my head. I can not believe the difference. It's magic! The other two sets did not seem to make much difference when switched to hear in noise program. Today I went biking and there was also a noticeable difference related to wind noise. With the loaners there was none. But as a new hearing aid user I did not know what to expect from day one.

I had told the Costco Specialist that streaming from my phone had worked fine. She said that the problem that was identified with my Jabra units (both pairs) was specific to microphone input processing.

Getting two pairs of "new" ( I assume), with the same manufacturing defect gives me concern about Jabra Quality and may still want to exercise my return / replace option. The new Rexton Reach model sounds interesting but they have not been out long enough to get much review info and the Philips 9050's are not yet available at Costco.

One thing that I do not like about the Rexton's is that the charger case, while smaller, does not have a flat base to set on a table. All three, Jabra Pro 20's, Rexton Reach, and Philips 9050 have LE Audio Bluetooth which I want. I still have about 4 months to make final decision.
