r/HearingAids on Reddit: Has anybody had experience with the new Jabra Enhance Pro 30?
June 12, 2025 -

These Jabras have AI, “intelligence augmented” , designed to support hearing in noise. My Phillips are just two years old, but background noise is wearing me out , I just don’t want to go into busy places because my nervous system is on overload with everything my ears have to process, including the strain of hearing the people I am with, say, at an outdoor event, the volume goes up, including everything you don’t want to hear. They had me try on the Jabras alternating with my Phillips and the difference was dramatic- with my Phillips I could hear the buzz and the whirr of everything electric and the normal ambient clatter ( and louder). The Jabras screened out most of that. Like- Ahh heavenly .They’re only $100 more, $1700 for the pair. Love Costco because if I find something out that doesn’t suit me inside of six months I can just get my money back and try something else.

r/HearingAids on Reddit: Jabra Pro 30 / Costco Feedback
June 16, 2025 -

TLDR: Switched from Widex Moment 440s to Jabra Pro 30s at Costco - and am very happy with both.

I have mild to moderate hearing loss - and have been using the Widex Moment 440s for 5-6 years.

They’ve served me very well. I was very happy with them - especially with the “PureSound” program.

My insurance didn’t cover them - and I paid out of pocket.

For a bunch of reasons (aging tech, no case with internal battery, poor streaming performance) I decided to look into replacements.

I decided to use Costco - and landed on the Jabra Pro 30s.

I saw mixed feedback on both - so i figured I’d provide some information.

Costco:

  • Costco was really great. I was able to schedule an appointment pretty quickly for an evaluation and testing.

  • I felt that the Costco evaluation and testing was just as thorough or even more thorough than my original audiologist.

  • My hearing hadn’t changed much since my last tests about a year ago - still showing mild to medium loss - mainly in higher frequencies.

  • I went back for delivery - and was also very impressed.

  • They used a machine that generated sounds and was testing sound received by both my hearing aids as well as small microphones they inserted in my ears along with the hearing aids.

  • I’m in the San Diego area - mentioning that since people have mentioned that Costco competence might be different in different areas of the country

Jabra Feedback:

  • I wore the Jabra 30s home - and my initial quick test was whether or not I’d get wind noise driving home in a convertible. Even in the “normal” program i did not

  • After i got home, i was surprised at how much better / how much more sound i was hearing - especially higher frequencies. I was able to turn down the volume on my TV quite a bit (up mostly for dialog), and also was able to disable the enhance dialog settings in several apps since i was able to hear dialog much better.

  • I was going to be taking a trip - and figured I’d want to take the 440s with me and not risk having the new hearing aids for a week if i wasn’t happy with them.

  • After my afternoon and evening with the 30s - i took them with me and am very happy with their performance.

  • I did some steaming from my iPhone on the way back from the airport in the Uber - and was pleasantly surprised. I’m totally never expecting hearing aids to perform like say my Apple AirPods. The Widex were horrible - and i wouldn’t use them at all for streaming. The Jabra units are much better - and i would consider them acceptable for casual streaming. On an airplane - I’ll still use my AirPods.

  • I found the case with battery handy - as i was able to put my 30s back in the case on the plane and they were able to charge

The App is nice - i wouldn’t say better than the Widex app, but easily as nice. I really like the ability to have the phone look at GPS and switch programs based on that. I use the Widex directional settings when I’m dining out - and have setup a favorite in Jabra can tag the location of restaurants we dine at often, so the app will auto-switch to Hear in Noise without me having to use my iPhone to do that.

Some Suggestions for Jabra:

  • allow me to create a favorite, say Restaurants, and be able to tag a bunch of locations. I don’t see a way to do that now. I seem to only be able to add one location per favorite

  • when i put the 30s on - they play a sound to indicate that they’re up and running. My 440s used to announce “left” and “right” when i put them in - i know I’m new to the 30s, but i kind of miss that

  • when switching programs the 30s beep once for program one, 2 for two, etc. Since those programs have static names - it would be great to have the 30s speak the name of the program

I know that some people were complaining about quality and having issues. I’ve only had them for a few days, so I’ll be on the lookout and report back if i find any.

And since my insurance still doesn’t cover hearing aids - getting these guys for $1700 which included a 3 year warranty and 3 year loss / damage coverage was pretty amazing. And my credit card will extend the warranty from 3 years to 4.

Happy to answer questions if anyone has any.
