I hope this isn't a no brainer. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two of these, and want to buy something that will last me a long time. I will be mostly listening indoors, and occasionally outdoors. I really like the Boombox 3 for how good it sounds and how bassy it is, but its size is wayy too big for me. The XTREME 4 on the other hand is like the perfect size but (imo) does not really compare to the Boombox 3 in terms of sound and low frequency performance. Ideally I would like to EQ which ever one I buy. What do you all think?
Edit: The Bose SoundLink Max is also on the table
Hi everyone, Iโm stuck between choosing the JBL Boombox 3 and the JBL Xtreme 4, and Iโd love some advice from those whoโve used them.
Iโm just curious about sound quality for listening to music at home (probably at 60% volume).
Thanks in advance!

i really canโt decide which one i should get, do you have any tips on what i should look out for?
Hello everybody,
I have a JBL Xtreme 3 for maybe 6-7 months. I use it on the go, beach sometimes indoors etc.
The sound indoors is great and sometimes the bass is too much. Outside for a example on the beach when there's no support from walls etc. the box is not loud enough and the sound gets thin. So my understanding is the box has not enough power to deliver good bass without support from walls etc.
My question is: how much better is the Boombox 3 really? Is the Boombox louder and has way more power then the Xtreme?
Especially the bass from the Xtreme gets really fast very weak when not sitting right next to it.
Edit: and has someone experience to power the Xtreme or Boombox with a Powerbank with AC output? The Xtreme and Boombox has more power when plugged.
Which one of these 3 would ultimately go the loudest? or would the Charge 6 be the best option considering the price range...
I have an Xtreme 4 right now. Honestly, it sounds really good, and has decent bass. And has crazy good durability. But I want more. The only thing is I feel the Boombox 3 is too big and heavy. I like throwing my speaker in my backpack and going on walks or riding on my escooter. I also really need something durable. I don't care about features too much, I care about the sound. Do you think in this instance it's worth getting a Boombox 3? I have a 500w sub+stereo system for at home listening.
So I'm a huge JBL fan. Got a charge 2+, replaced it with a charge 3 (this one died and I replaced it), and when those died I got an Xtreme 3. Unfortunately my car was broken into, and my JBL was stolen (my wallet and registration as well, but I've got my priorities xD).
So do we know, are the Xtreme 4/Boombox 4 coming out soon? If so I can wait, otherwise, what do you guys think will have a better sound. I'm leaning towards two Xtremes, but I've never spent anytime around a Boombox.
Hey yall! Iโm really strongly thinking about buying a JBL boombox 3. I wanted to wait for the boombox 4 but i would really like a big bluetooth speaker for the summer. I have 2 Beats pills and they are awesome but i really want a big speaker for the beach and for outdoors use (because the metal grille on the beats are really easily damaged). I would like to know if it would be stupid to buy a boombox 3 right now, and what upgrades are expected for the boombox 4.
I'm in Texas. I was able to get one before the US release by ordering off Amazon.de They ship to the US, surprisingly.
