I bought both Xtreme 3 and Boombox 3 this summer as there was a good sale (145e for X3 and 200e for BB3). I have studio quality speakers already so these were just for portability and ease of use. Boombox 3 is the obvious winner. If you can carry it around, there is no contest. It sounds so much better than Xtreme 3, which I will probably sell later. If I were 14, I would choose Boombox 3 any day if it was the only speaker to use, and portability is important. The only downside for Boombox 3 is the price. The weight doesn't matter because it is part of the physics to create good sound. I won't recommend any 200 euro studio speaker sets as Boombox 3 will likely sound better. As a matter of fact, those cheap monitors will make you regret your choice. They don't have the bass you are after. Don't trust anyone in Reddit by default. Everyone tries to behave like a professional. Do your own research, or you will get burned. My advice is still to sell Xtreme 3 and get Boombox 3. Just don't spend more than 300 euros on it. So im 14 and I've been obsessed with JBL speakers especially the JBL Boombox 3. So i bought a JBL Xtreme 3 as a start and i love it. The problem is buyers remorse because i haven't used it as much now because we usually don't go out much. But now im interested in selling my JBL Xtreme 3 for a JBL Boombox 3, I've been listening to alot of bassy songs lately and i love the bass on the xtreme 3 but i just feel like it's not enough. i feel like i want something deep and punchy like those PA Subwoofers i see in events but portable. So i want to save up for a Boombox 3 so that i can be more comfortable holding it rather than a stupid strap and also better bass and has a handle and is bigger so its better. So im getting the ND model and im hoping to get it by the end of the school year which is in like may or June.

Bro, I’d just do whatever you want. If you want the boombox 3 then get it, keep the receipt, If it sucks return it. Money comes and goes, just don’t get in a habit of being bad with your money.

Hello,
I will buy the Boombox 3 and my question is why the Boombox 3 Wifi is heavier than the normal Boombox.
I don't think that the WiFi Module weighs 3 kilograms.
Maybe there are better Speakers with more power or bigger magnets in the WiFi edition?
Can someone compare the BB3 and BB3 WiFi?
I will only use the Boombox 3 outside, at home I have a real Hifi Setup.

I have both, they weight basically the same, the more weight on the site is including the packaging which is a fault on the specs page. Also you should get the normale bb3, it is more convenient to use on the go, wifi version has a longer bootup time since it's a smart speaker which can be used as a allways on speaker like sonos speakers. Also it's missing partyboost.

The sound quality is better on BB3 Wi-Fi as it’s not compressed audio (apple music lossless) , I compared both and ended up keeping the Wi-Fi one, Had a backyard bbq and being able to receive calls without interrupting the music and being able to move around without my phone being out of range was amazing!

Long time listener, first time caller. My question is, is the Boombox 3 worth the extra money compared to the Boom 2 plus, Uboom x, of W-King x20? I know people are going to recommend I buy 2 of the cheaper ones, but I just want one speaker that I can carry in with me to work, or out by the pool in the backyard. I know the bass will be better on the Boombox, but is it that much better? If it is, then I'll get it, I just don't have anywhere near me that I can go listen to before purchasing. My current speaker for baseline is the Sony srs xb43 I was able to get at Walmar for $100 due to it being mispriced. Any and all help is much appreciated, thank you.

I own the x20, Uboomx, and boombox 3 WiFi edition. The boom 2 plus is in the mail as I’m typing this. Right now I believe the boombox 3 WiFi is 400 at Costco. The x20 is 300 on Amazon. The boom 2 plus is 129 dollars on Costco website, and that’s the reason I have one in the mail. Compared to the boombox 3 WiFi and x20 the Uboomx comes up short, but for the price it’s pretty darn good. Now do I think the boombox 3 WiFi is worth the extra 100 bucks over the x20. Heck yea! It just sounds better to my ears.

I‘ve heard the BB3 Wifi sounds a little better and is bit heavier than the BB3. Originally i wanted the BB3 cause it had an AUX input, but couldn’t find one cheaper than 350€. then i also heard that the BB3 Wifi sounds better so i bought it instead

Honestly I love that I’m able to leave it on 24/7 and play music from it without ever getting up to turn it on. Also I’ve never missed the aux. I’ve never heard a regular bb3 so I can’t speak on the sound comparison

Yeah that's a good deal. And the WiFi edition is much more balanced on the mids and highs so it was definitely the right decision
