No the Boombox 2 is more powerful than the Extreme 3.
However the Extreme 3 is more powerful than the Extreme 2.
It’s also a lot lighter and more portable than the Boombox 2 so it all depends on how you’re going to use it. If you want to fill a big room,or use it outside for a party I would go with the Boombox. If you want it for a more intimate gathering,or you’re going to take it on the go,the Extreme 3 is easier to carry around.

Went to best buy to originally just by a new mouse pad today. Ended up walking down the monitor aisle and speaker aisle, to take a look at their open box stuff. To maybe see if I could find any good deals. Ended up walking past this jbl xtreme 3 for a good condition open box labeled on the shelf 48.99. I thought there was a mistake because the box said there was just minor cosmetic damage. Ended up asking employee and sure enough they checked me out and i got a basically brand new fully functional xtreme 3 for only 50 bucks. Not sure if this was a pricing mistake or why the price was so low but never had a deal quite as good as this.

Congrats! The JBL Xtreme 3 is very nice! i have it myself (bought it for 210€ at the end of last year 1 day before silvester xD) I don't care about the Xtreme 4, The fact they removed AUX and USB-A makes it less attractive for me. Only reason why i would buy an Xtreme 4 is Swapable Battery and the resulting longer playtime lmao
