I have had the Charge 4 and now I have the Xtreme 3. The Xtreme sounds WAY better. It’s sound so much bigger, it’s louder, and it looks better in my opinion. The bass also goes almost 10hz deeper which is a lot. More on reddit.com

Ever since moving I have not needed my PartyBox 320 and have been wanting to sell it and get something smaller. Have been eyeing Xtremes and local Walmart has 3 for $259 and 4 for $299. Is the Xtreme 4 that much better than the 3?

Interesting.. i don't know how to think about the xtreme 4. The swappable battery and the extra features can be a deal breaker, also the deeper bass. About the bass i feel like jbl retuned the bass to have more at low volumes, but also improved the capabilities of the drivers to put out more bass. At the same time, the distorted kicks in some songs on the xtreme 4 are worrying me a little bit. I currently own the x3, i enjoy it but i do feel the slight lack of deep bass. I believe jbl will release a firmware to the x4 as always, to balance it out and not let those kicks to distort when bass kicks.
