My goal is to start earning $2000 - $3000 per month in one year from now in a fully remote capacity. The problem is that seemingly all potential career fields are oversaturated. I’ve considered numerous potential careers such as, digital marketing, copywriting, coding, social media management… everything appears too competitive to make my goal seem feasible. I don’t want to devote tons of time and energy into something that wasn’t realistic to begin with.
Ideally, I’d like to start my own business or work as a freelancer for the autonomy, but I’m not opposed to being an employee either. What are some viable ways to make money remotely given the rising popularity and demand for remote work? Are there any fields that aren’t yet oversaturated and relatively easy to get into?

What LEGIT jobs/careers allow you to work remotely?
What is your job that allows you to work remotely? And (if you're willing to answer this) how much do you make?
I'm a customer service rep for an mid-size specialist service provider in New Zealand. I work remotely and answer phone calls, manage inboxes and respond to emails/product enquiries, with team video conferences twice weekly. I also manage our email marketing and work with our devs and in-house designer for website updates, product launches and marketing collateral.
I used to be office-based, but became remote as an essential employee after multiple restructures and employees quitting, I offered my resignation due to relocation and was offered a permanent remote position instead as no one else could do my job straight away or train anyone on how to do it, after my other 6 colleagues quit or were fired.
I work 9-5 Mon-Fri (local time) and earn approx. 40k USD p/a. I landed this role after working for a similar company in a different field (i got my prior job literally from the unemployment queue as entry level part-time minimum wage, demonstrated business skills and got promoted to sales/marketing within 3 months).

Software development. Many software companies are fully embracing the 'everyone is remote' philosophy. If you are interested in software or software-adjacent work (project management, marketing, etc) that might be a good option to investigate.
(I'm not nomading currently, but several of my coworkers are full or part time nomads. A couple of them live in RVs and travel North America, one moves around mostly in South and Central America (he likes being near the US Eastern timezone to stay in sync with the companies we work with), but he has been in other parts of the world as well. He usually rents a place for a month or three and works from home and local facilities (coworking spaces, coffee shops, etc).)

Part-Time remote jobs involve telecommuting or doing freelance work in a number of fields, including journalism, copywriting, advertising, marketing, data entry, and technical fields, such as software development and web design. Some part-time remote jobs are flexible, while other work from home jobs require you to be available for a specific shift or time during the week. This may involve logging into a virtual office platform or simply submitting work online at specific times. Your duties depend on the industry in which you work, but you should have strong technical skills and reliable internet access for all jobs.
