I just wanted to leave a post of appreciation for Joey Batey's interpretation of Jaskier; be it the more nuisance-puppy-dog version of s1, or the slightly more cynical, darker, but still funny and endearing version of s2.
The man did his homework, read the books, and we will never know how much he manages to influence the writing - especially when the script fails him frequently, like in s2 (then again, the pathos and generic writing failed ALL CHARACTERS, where is the dry, dark wit of the books?!).
My bet is, he lightly improvises the script Jaskier closer to the Jaskier from the books. He is a low-key operator in this, not as outspoken as Henry Cavill (for one it is a career break, the other is a star, they differ in personality) - but I have a huge amount of appreciation for this fellow NERD.
And he is the bard OF the show, not just the bard ON the show. The level of musical and lyrical talent of this charismatic man is mind-blowing. And he can sing beautifully.
So yeah, just this. So much love. Joey Batey, you need more appreciation here. Who's with me?

Yes yes yes!!! I’m so in love with Joey’s interpretation of Jaskier. The littlest nuances and little mannerisms he adds really brings him to life. As much as people like to hate on the Netflix version at least we got netlflix Jaskier. For me, Joey’s performance is the best version of Jaskier/Dandelion in the Witcher universe!
