Happened to us in June. Bought a Joker visa at shoppers and 2 days after activation it was used in NYC. So I call Visa who tells me it was compromised and have to submit a ton of information. My license a receipt, a long form. Of course husband threw out the activation receipt, so I go to shoppers to get a reprint ad they said they could reprint it. Well they could not reprint it. The sales receipt not the activation receipt numbers of the card (identifier number) did not match the identifier number of the card we purchased. So I called Shoppers and got the manager involved. Called Visa again. Waited. Took about 2 months and got a new card. I would rather give anyone cash than these cards after that ordeal. update the third party company actually is named the Blackhawk network More on reddit.com

This is a scam that has been happening for years at Shopper's Drug Mart. Definitely contact them. They know this has been happening. I bought a Joker prepaid card with 150$ the other day and have been trying to register it for a few days now but every time I'm hit back with an error saying
"We are unable to process your request at this time. If you continue to receive this error, please contact Cardholder services by calling the number on the back of your card."
Calling the number on the back of the card is absolutely useless since it just tells me that it can't find my card. I'm really hoping I didn't throw 150$ down the drain. If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

there was a thread the other day showing that scammers will replace the label on the back of the card so when it gets scanned in at the til, their card gets filled not yours. check the label on the packaging to see if it's been tampered with.

I bought $200 gift card, from my local shoppers drug mart, and I’ve tried 20 different retailers and every single time my card keeps getting declined.
I cannot use this card anywhere! Stay far away from this company because there is nobody to talk to; the only customer service repersentive they have is robots.
Biggest scam in Canada right now. If anyone knows the Joker’s agents phone # please comment before I take legal action, because this is f*kn ridiculous, I’ve never had a problem with actual prepaid visas like (MyPrepaidCenter, etc).
