Hi everybody,
Gladiator II is finally here (for some of us anyway), so if you want to discuss the movie, please use this megathread. As usual, remember to mark your comment if it contains spoilers. Enjoy!

Excerpt:
“For obvious reasons, Joaquin Phoenix’s performance was something that was in our minds,” Quinn tells Empire, speaking on behalf of Hechinger too. “It was something we had a reverence for, but we didn’t want to.... soil with some kind of poor rendition.” Instead, they drew from other performances of delectable, unapologetic villainy – ones you can’t help but get swept up in, even when rooting for the hero. Among them? Philip Seymour Hoffman’s dreaded Davian in Mission: Impossible III, the man who famously put an explosive charge in Ethan Hunt’s head. See also: “Gary Oldman in The Fifth Element!” says Quinn. “He has this relish for being horrible.”

HE’S GONNA DIE AGAIN YALL. Caracalla was stabbed to death after peeing on the side of the road. 🙃
I’m so happy for him though and the cast is already looking SO GOOD.
EDIT: also our boy is gonna be in a movie with DENZEL FRICKIN WASHINGTON
I don't normally comment more of a lurker, but holy shit! Gladiator is one of my favourite films ever! I cannot wait for this, I'm sure Joe will be amazing as usual, even though he's going to die again lol :')
The comment section here😂
GO JOE, WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! (even if your character dies)
He’s doing some press today so we may get some new interviews soon!
Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger were wonderfully wicked as Geta and Caracalla. I like how each of them embodied one aspect of Commodus, Geta was the cunning, and Caracalla was the crazy.
Both of the characters were just so over the top throughout the film. Caracella in particular had that monkey he anointed as his first consul, and Geta had one of the best lines in the movie.
“The gods have spoken!”
“I just care about all those people," he says. In particular, Joseph Quinn, loved chiefly for his portrayal of Eddie Munson in Stranger Things, who plays Fred's brother in the film. “He is one of the loveliest, most amazing actors to work with and people to know," he enthuses.
11. Connie Nielsen, 12. Fred Hechinger, 13. Joseph Quinn

Excerpt:
Paul Mescal turns and looks out the window as he talks about playing a warrior fighting for his life in Ridley Scott’s long-awaited sequel to Gladiator. The light strikes the steep angles of his face, and for a moment it’s easy to picture him as a millennia-old marble bust. “My nose just is kind of Roman,” he says. “So it’s useful in this context. The nose that I absolutely hated when I was in secondary school—and used to get ribbed for—became very, very useful when Ridley needed somebody to be in Gladiator II.”
