I feel like Drake associates Josh with the goodness that came into his life. Like obviously Drake was going through it at the time of the series and likely associates Josh with the one good thing that happened during that time. As life happens, it’s normal to grow apart from people you were once close with and Josh seems to want to break free from his awkward teenage years whereas Drake is trying to hang on to them since he hasn’t moved on from the past. Josh has moved on. Also I think the fans want them to be brothers in real life because of how close they were in the show so they tend to make it a thing when Josh doesn’t react with nostalgia like Drake does. Neither happen, he fails to transition to Hollywood after College and Superhero Movie fail. he then goes millions of dollars in debt, lives in Disneyland briefly, ages weirdly, reattempts music as Spanish singer named Drake Campana, then has numerous allegations of abuse against him all the while Josh Peck, loses the weight early on, takes a break from Hollywood, eventually starts becoming popular on social media, joins a vlogging group, becomes good friends with John Stamos, and gets married and now has a kid and could easily get back into the industry in roles like this. essentially Josh has 10.8 Million Instagram followers, Drake has 4.3 Million and is likely going to Jail More on reddit.com
