Oh god no. That’s barely a step up from the floor. The softest are spring loaded sub-floors, the next softest are regular sub floors, then competition mats, then folding mats, and the least soft are these. More on reddit.com

I was using 5cm thick puzzle mats for a while, directly put on rough surface, and they're pretty hard tbh.
I was considering buying some traditional Judo mats (4cm thick, but apparently with softer padding) not to replace my puzzle mats, but to put them above them.

My club does this (judo mats on top of puzzle mats) and we don't have issues with nagekomi nor randori. We do have some softer crash mats that are taken out for newer people when they're first learning to throw/be thrown.
