So, I was thinking about the third movie recently, and the thought occurred to me: Cooper probably could have survived a little longer if he had just kept running. The spino seems to follow the plane as soon as it crashes, so he'd probably have been able to hide in the forest if he kept running instead of trying to flag down the plane. How long he would have lasted, who knows, but probably a little longer. Thoughts anyone else you think could have lasted longer

I'm not sure. The Spinosaurus probably slowed down a bit to get him on the runway, which enabled the plane to clip its flank, thus pissing it off and ensuring it pursued them. If the animal had continued at full speed, the plane may not have hit it and crashed, and it would have gotten Cooper a few seconds later.

I always felt a little bad for Cooper (just a little, I only really liked Alan in this movie) like you can't really prepare yourself against something you're only given limited information on, let alone a large carnivorous dinosaur. It's one of the reasons why I don't really like the Kirby's (aside from Eric ofc). Like, I get wanting to do anything to get your kid back, but the wanton disregard to the potential casualties is just astounding. But, yeah, maybe if Cooper kept moving, he might've survived. Although, all reasonable thought is tossed to the wayside when you're injured, being chased by a large dino wanting to eat you, and thinking your friends are abandoning you. You could also argue that, if he kept running, and the spino was indeed distracted by the plane, he could've made it back to the group at some point (if his injuries weren't bad enough to do him in).

I think that actually could have worked except for Spino picking Cooper up. Spino not killing Coop after picking him up would make Spino look weak. What would have been better would be Spino chasing Cooper but we don’t see what happens.
