Hello ! I currently have a standard keyboard with Zealios switches, but I find it too high and my wrists are hurting after extended typing. As I spend most of my time at my desk, I'm looking to switch to an ergo keyboard.
I'm looking to get a Kyria from splitkb.com with the acrylic plate case, Choc switches, and tenting, to have the keyboard as low as possible.
However, I'm having trouble picking the switches. I'd like to get the ones that would put the less strain on my wrists, like the pink Choc (previously gChoc if I'm not mistaken), but I read that it prevents letting my hands rest on the keyboard.
As it would be my first tented keyboard, I don't know if that's an issue for this kind of keyboards ? For more actuation force, I guess the Sunset Choc would be more similar to what I currently have, but I have no idea if they would be too hard on my fingers.
Unfortunately, I didn't find a good tester available for shipping in my country to really compare.
Do any of you have any experience on this ? Sorry for the long post, and for the potential mistakes, english isn't my first language

Hello! As the title suggests i was looking for some options for low profile switches aside from those provided by gateron.
I tried the reds and the browns and prefer the reds for gaming and the browns for typing but thought the browns where a bit loud for office work (even though I didn’t receive complaints).
Sooo I guess as a small contribution to this sub I am pleased to anounce the nuphy switches work on the keychron! I curently have nuphy’s wisteria switches installed. They are light tactile switches and they are slightly more silent then the gateron browns and I’m quite happy with them!
It got me thinking though, are there any other mx style low profile switches out there that you have had good experiences with? Also any links where to browse for them? (European based shops are a plus)
I noticed that the open source split keyboards always use Kailh Choc V1 sockets when supporting low profile switches/keycaps. Just wondering why this one in particular and not Gateron low profile or Cherry low profile, like Keychron or Nuphy?
Hey, Which low profile switches has regular pins? I’ve got regular sofie and bought kailh switches from ALI but they’re not suitable for my board. Now I’m ussing regular Akko fairy but wanted to try low profile setup. Which switches should be fine? Preferably from ali. My keyboard for attention 🤠
Hi everyone. I'm considering getting the Haute42 R16. I saw that it comes with Kalih low profile switches. I generally would like if my switches can be replaced with various brands so I'm not dependant on one company. Are there other brands with low profile switches that can easily be swapped with the kalih low profiles? Thanks in advance.
Thought I'd take a chance and ask here. Looking to offer low profile switches and chose some of the ones talked about on Reddit and elsewhere. From this list, which would you suggest I keep? Any I should avoid? Any models not on the list that I should add?
PS: Wind Engine is a retailer exclusive so I can't get it.
I got this new hitbox which uses low profile switches. I'm not very well versed in low profile switches and have only every used full size. I was hoping to learn which low profile switches were the most tactile or had the most operating force. I really like to feel resistance when typing or playing.
I tried researching, but i can only find them from kailh, are they the only brand/manufacturer that make low profile linear light (<40g) switches? i wantto compare a few more choices before deciding.

I've got two leverless setups that use these and have been looking to branch out from the default Choc Reds.
Looks like JFA has Pro Reds, Pinks, and the new Ambers for linear switches. Anyone have any experiences with these?
Weirdly I actually like how the Reds feel in my Snackbox Micro but for some reason I feel like they have more travel time in my Keebrawler. Specifically interested in the new Ambers due to their 1mm actuation.
I am currently looking into building an Ergonaut One and I’m at the point of considering my options for low profile switches.
Beforehand I was using a custom built Kunlun board (from KBDFans) with lubed U4T bobas (an MX-Style switch) and I really love the feel of them.
I have heard lots of great things about the Cowberries or Wisterias (especially lubed). I would love to hear some opinions on this topic or some options I might have not even considered yet.
Would be grateful for any feedback :)
I'm not sure if anyone try this, I bought some recently and I think they're very nice. This is a silent line up so they're very silent, probably the the most silent switches I have ever used. Tactile bump on the tactile switches are smooth and quite strong for my taste (I'm linear guy), the linear one is silky smooth and I think this will be my daily driver for the time being.
I'm not sure what they call this type of switches, but they're essentially choc v2 without the extra prongs.
I'm planning a Redox build, and I've heard elsewhere that Kailh's low-profile switches are slightly smaller than standard cherry mx and might not fit in the plate without modifications. Would anyone that's actually built the thing be able to confirm/deny?
I'm just trying to make sure everything fits before I commit to purchases and what not.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2704567 This is what I'm sending off to the printer, and I presume that it's more-or-less the 'official' Redox case

https://mkultra.click/kailh-choc-v2-low-profile-switches/ I'm going for blue switches, just for kicks.
Yes, they will fit in an MX plate without modification. As long as the PCB supports both then you're good.
They will fit, but the switches will not clip in. The clip mechanism is different and this case seems to be designed for MX switches only. You might end up with loose switches and have to hot glue them in the case.
I am thinking of getting the retrocultsmods Zero board kit with the fret board. Which switch do you guys like more. I was thinking about getting the white ones but might want the reds to stay quiet. What is everyone's thoughts
sorry if this is a dumb question.
so I'm in the process of trying to build a cherry corne keyboard and I really want to build a low profile one.
however, in my country it would be very dufficult (or unreasonably expensive) to get my hands on kailh switches, so I was wondering if the gateron low profile brown switches would work as a drop in replacement since there's a local reseller.
I've never built a keyboard before, and I don't have much experience with different switches.
unfortunately the only switches I've had experience with are clicky blues. ( I don't know the brand but it's on my T-dagger keyboard)
I want something that feels just as clicky or more but aren't as loud and annoying to listen to.
also just a heads up:
I have only baught the microcontrollers so far. (their nice nano clones that I found locally)
I've tested them by flashing the firmware with zmk and bridging some of the pins to check if there's an output and it worked.
I haven't ordered any of the other parts yet so I'm still open to other keyboards but I really like the format of the corne.
if the gateron switches aren't compatible with the chocs then I'm open to recomendations that are similar to the corne but that also support gateron low profile v2 switches
I'd greatly appreciate any help, feedback or recommendations as I have no experience with custom keyboards
