I'm want to make sure that I understand what's available right now. It seems like there are three styles currently?
Can someone clarify for me:
-
Are any of the Kailh LP switches *quiet*. I'm a big fan of the Matias Quiet Click switches. I travel to a few different offices for contract work and I do not want to be the guy with the machine gun keyboard.
-
I know it's sacrilege around here, but I'm not actually too worried about the feel of the keys. As long as they don't require an extraordinary amount of force, I can adjust to most anything. That said, if there is a quiet switch, how does it feel?

If there *is not* a quiet Kailh LP switch, are there any mods to make them quiet?
Thanks!
They're a bit quieter than kailh box, but still not extremely quiet. You could probably use a small o-ring in the switch to dampen the bottom out, and if you want to use a low profile clicky switch, they're always gonna be really loud.
You can lube them (i did it with burnt orange) and it takes fair portion of loudness away. Also don't forget that very important factor is the rigidity of the whole board and quality of the keycaps. The keycaps are pita though, there is almost nothing on the market. And no PBT i am aware of (someone prove me wrong), which helps a lot in sound dampening. I lubed also Cherry ML's with an interessant result (not completely silent but quite quiet).

Although I do have a DareU EK820 68 incoming, the Anidees Prismatic is even smaller. Very intriguing! My understanding from https://flashquark.com/product/dareu-ek820-bluetooth-68-key-mechanical-keyboard-wkailh-low-profile-switches/ was that the keyboard I ordered will not be clicky. How's the Prismatic? I need a quiet keyboard. My main device, the Matias Ergo Pro is somewhat pushing it but it's OK. I wouldn't even dare to use a buckling spring "machine gun sound" keyboard when I am in the office (not to mention the weight of one such).
Hi, soon I am going to order some Kailh switches for a 60% board.
I have to use MX Red/Brown at work due to the lack of noise they make. Is there any Kailh switches box switch, box heavy, pro, speed that will give me a nice click but without the anti social noise. I have tried box navy and jade they felt very nice, but I cant remember how noisy they were.
I guess I can go off to youtube and have a search, but has anybody found a nice happy medium between nice click and less noise.
