r/MechanicalKeyboards on Reddit: Help me understand the current Kailh Low Profile choices? (sound and feel)
July 11, 2017 -

I'm want to make sure that I understand what's available right now. It seems like there are three styles currently?

Can someone clarify for me:

  1. Are any of the Kailh LP switches *quiet*. I'm a big fan of the Matias Quiet Click switches. I travel to a few different offices for contract work and I do not want to be the guy with the machine gun keyboard.

  2. I know it's sacrilege around here, but I'm not actually too worried about the feel of the keys. As long as they don't require an extraordinary amount of force, I can adjust to most anything. That said, if there is a quiet switch, how does it feel?

  3. If there *is not* a quiet Kailh LP switch, are there any mods to make them quiet?

Thanks!

I have these on a KBD67 Lite R2 and they sound/feel incredible. Very thick PBT that sounds great and looks really good too. Tolerances are good on printing and the texture is a nice surprise for the PBT. Even at full price, I'd say that these are worth it. Extremely underrated set. Love the profile and colours too.

Kailh Low Profile Choc Switches
Kailh Choc switches are low profile, ideal for builds that focus on achieving a low height and for keyboards you'd like to take with you on the go. Switches by Kind Below are all choc switches we sell, listed by their kind and sorted by weight. In general, lighter switches are more suitable for chording (pressing multiple keys at the same time), but do make it easier to press them by accident. Heavier switches are harder to press, which can be satisfying but may be more straining over time. · Linear Switches Linear switches have a linear curve: when pressing down the switch, there are no bump

A Comprehensive Overview of Kailh Switches - Hirosart
November 4, 2024 - What makes Kailh Speed Gold switches different from the Bronze ones is that they actuate at a higher point, at 1.4 mm and the emitted sound is ‘clacky’, not ‘clicky’. Of course, 1.4 mm is more than enough to increase the sensitivity. With a light touch and tad-dah, your key is registered. On the other hand, other aspects of those Kailh switches are the same - precise, smooth, and firm. Kailh is indeed sensitive to the keyboard market as they fast released the Kailh Low-Profile switches right after the appearance of low-profile keyboards.

r/MechanicalKeyboards on Reddit: Are Kailh Low Profile White Switches loud? Anidees Prismatic, in specifics.
June 12, 2018 -

Although I do have a DareU EK820 68 incoming, the Anidees Prismatic is even smaller. Very intriguing! My understanding from https://flashquark.com/product/dareu-ek820-bluetooth-68-key-mechanical-keyboard-wkailh-low-profile-switches/ was that the keyboard I ordered will not be clicky. How's the Prismatic? I need a quiet keyboard. My main device, the Matias Ergo Pro is somewhat pushing it but it's OK. I wouldn't even dare to use a buckling spring "machine gun sound" keyboard when I am in the office (not to mention the weight of one such).

r/MechanicalKeyboards on Reddit: Which Kailh switches for quietest click
June 15, 2018 -

Hi, soon I am going to order some Kailh switches for a 60% board.

I have to use MX Red/Brown at work due to the lack of noise they make. Is there any Kailh switches box switch, box heavy, pro, speed that will give me a nice click but without the anti social noise. I have tried box navy and jade they felt very nice, but I cant remember how noisy they were.

I guess I can go off to youtube and have a search, but has anybody found a nice happy medium between nice click and less noise.
