November 19, 2020Step-by-step tutorial for installing kali on mac
Easiest way without going into a zillion paragraph tutorial is to download a copy of VMware Fusion and install it. There is zero setup. Download the regular Kali iso. Right click>open with> VMware Fusion. It's going to automatically set up a VM that has a 60gb disk and 2gb ram. Click install and it will go through everything for you. This is one of those things where there are 15 ways to skin a cat. I have worked with Kali and a Mac for about 8 years now and done it multiple ways but this still seems to be the smoothest and fastest for the "not as technical" crowd. Ymmv More on reddit.com

After I ran UTM, chose 'Virtualize' -> Other -> selected the relevant boot iso image file -> set the memory at 2047 MB and selected 2 CPU cores -> 34 GB of drive size -> gave Downloads as my shared directory path -> then I double clicked on the VM in the sidebar -> clicked edit -> added a new 'serial' under Devices -> increased the font size to 20 -> saved!
