Beginner here. All I see here are final products, keycaps and switches. Where are you getting the frames and other parts? Are you designing/making/cutting them yourselves?

I was looking for kits to make a keyboard but I can't find any for 100% or 87% kits. I then looked for just the frames because that would be easier but I can't find any 100% or 87% keyboard frames. I looked everywhere and if I searched it up, all it would show me is $100 full keyboards, but I would much rather just get the frame. PLEASE HELP ME!
Hi everyone. I recently got into mechanical keyboards so I apologize if I mix up the terminology!
I'm loving the mirror polished brass on this case or frame. Anyone know if there's one you can purchase? Or if there's a prebuilt keyboard with the same finish.
I tried reverse image searching it but it just brings up the ad for the Rama Works Switch Puller
The board in the pic is the Rama M65-B Rose Tank edition.
It was only available during a groupbuy and can't be bought anymore.

You could try to get one aftermarket but they are not exactly "affordable".
Current prices go from 1800-2400$ for the case alone.
There was also the Rama Koyu Tank that looked very similar but it's aftermarket prices are similar to those of the M65-B.
I might try to find a metal case and mirror polish it myself or find someone to brass plate it ๐
hello, I'm looking to build my own keyboard, but I cant figure out how to find any full size boards or shells or whatever.
I'm basically looking for a mechanical keyboard without the switches or keycaps.
I'm decent with a soldering iron so that is a option.
Thank you for your responses
where can I find nice keyboard frames and good pcb for a nice price??

Also maybe worth looking at the vendor list https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/
To clear any confusion, I'm aware of the different layouts of switches (Full-size, TKL, 60%, etc.). I'm curious about the deck under the keys, if that makes any sense. For example, on this keyboard the keys and switches seem to be in their own little sections under the "surface" of the keyboard. But on this board and this board, the keys and switches look like they're mounted on what looks like a single sheet of material. If you look at it from the side, you can see pretty much the entire top half of the switches where on the other one, all the switches are in a recessed section.
Forgive the complex explanation of my question. I tried to show examples, but I'm not very proficient in keyboard anatomy. I just want to know if there are any standard names or terms for the two styles of aesthetic surfaces or decks or whatever they are that I compared in the pictures above.
Im just deciding between alluminium or plastic
Hey guys, Iโm looking for a keyboard that I can buy that looks like the photo attached.
Basically:
keycaps not too close to the edge. Notice how the frame (white border) is not thin
65-75%, has the arrows (doesnt have to be laid out exactly in that position, for example it could be sitting directly next to another key)
white / black
under $100 if its just the frame and under $160 if its an entire keyboard
Hi, noob here. Just want to try "building" a keyboard but actually I'm just going to buy the keycaps, switches, and frame separately. I won't do mods yet. Need help finding a frame. I was going to buy the Feker IK75 Pro (3-mode) but it sold out in my area and apparently it will not restock anymore.
Here are my preferences:
-
Knob
-
75 or TKL
-
Programmable RGB and keys
-
Good stock stabs
-
Adjustable tilt
-
Reputable / decent quality control
-
Black
-
3-mode is a great plus
-
OLED is a plus
Hey Reddit!
I was wondering if there were any decent 3D models or technical drawings for a 60% keyboard frame? I am curious about designing my own 60% keyboard with my CNC but not sure where to begin with the frame specifics or anything about building custom keyboards in general. I've never seen a 60% keyboard in person, but I am looking for a smaller keyboard. I currently have a Das Keyboard 4 with MX Blues and love it! I am just curious about possibly building my own keyboard and figured you guys could help!
I am looking for a mechanical keyboard that has a relative low total height for the frame, but not with the typical "cut off" keycaps from low-profile keyboards. So a keyboard with full sized keycaps but still a low profile for the whole board frame.
Budget: Max 200$ Size: Tenkeyless Other: Wired or wireless does not matter
Donโt get keychrons then. Their frames are quite tall. Royal Kludges are pretty skinny.
I have the Nuphy Air96 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard, highly recommend. It does have low profile / cut off keycaps & switches, however you can only have:
-
Low profile keycaps with standard switches
-
Standard keycaps with standard switches
-
Low profile keycaps with standard switches In order to get any thing resembling low profile you have to have low profile keycaps and low profile switches. Standard keycaps just have too much travel and require too much hight to be truly low profile. You could remove everything but the switches, keycaps and PCB, mill the frame, kapton tape the PCB and have it rest on the frame. You would only be gaining a couple mmโs but sacrificing all that absorption and feel.
I was about to order a K8, but it looks like the RGB version with the aluminum frame and hot swappable switches recently went out of stock. So ... I was thinking of downgrading to the white backlight.
My question is: Does the Aluminum frame have a big affect on the keyboard? Does it make the keyboard more stiff, or sound different?
I have been looking for a silicone mold to make keyboard frames, like the one in the picture, and canโt find them no where. Does anyone know where I may find one?
Hello, I'm looking to build my first custom keyboard and I need some help. I ordered Sarokeys Strawberry Wine switches and key caps from Osume, but when looking at bases, I'm completely lost. I want something available in white/off-white, preferably in a 60-65% range. I'd prefer to spend less than $120. I was looking at the Molly60 but the GB that I'm seeing wouldn't ship for about 3 months and I'd hopefully find something that could ship sooner.
Does anyone have any recommendations for this?
Hey, I've been looking around here for two weeks now and I wonder if there are any compact keyboards which would fit the "frameless" category with floating keys. So far, the only one I've seen is the Smart 68 which seems to have no frame at all, just a base.
Close to that there are the Vortex Pure Pro, Poker II, Pok3r, and the KBParadise V60 (I'd prefer 67/68 keys but it's not as important).
I want to see just some awesome custom keycaps without these mundane black or white frames if you know what I mean.
