I would love to buy a K3 for instance, but it seems they don't have Azerty layouts? What are my options? I'm very new to mechanical keyboards.

Hey,
I'm french and here we are using AZERTY ISO and not QWERTY ISO. Since the keys are swapable, is it possible to buy a QWERTY keyboard and then swap the keys in order to have an AZERTY ?
I contacted the support and they just tall me that I could wait for the release of the QMK keyboard that will provide a french layout... But I urgently need a new keyboard.
Thanks!
Hi,
I'm following up on the previous discussion, that as been closed (see here : https://www.reddit.com/r/Keychron/comments/f7pbr9/azerty/?utm_source=amp&utm_medium=&utm_content=add_comment&sort=new)
I'm looking for a K1 in French AZERTY layout. Late May, Keychron announced on Twitter that they would do it by September: https://twitter.com/KeychronMK/status/1265618531657191424?s=19
But I just asked them by email yesterday, and their answer was: "Sorry that we don't have the French azerty layout keyboard, but we may release it in the future." No more information.
On a French forum, I've found this google form asking for which layout we would like : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfIsk2ZPKsJEQWNgbAIXfMTv-HfmfDXV1NDD4bTRv8VPaEvWQ/viewform I strongly suggest that everyone interested in Keychron keyboards answer this short survey. This might help..
I also asked them if there were compatible keycaps to "convert" an US qwerty in a French azerty, but got no answer to that question.. and not sure this would entirely do the job, as it's not only about special signs but maybe also the general keys arrangement.
Are there any "insider" information on new layouts to be released? :)
Hello, as my title, I'm wondering with Keychron has created a azerty version or if it's possible ?
Many thanks !
Hi,
I like the K7, but as a french I would like an ISO/AZERTY/FR layout for my keyboard.
The closest thing I have found is the K7 with an ISO/QWERTY/UK layout : https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-iso-jis-keyboard-collection/products/keychron-k7-ultra-slim-wireless-mechanical-keyboard-uk-iso-layout?variant=40001205960793
I could swap some keys so the letters are in an AZERTY layout and configure the mapping in my OS, but I see a few limitations :
The special characters on the top row and left to the Enter key won't match because they are grouped differently on an AZERTY/FR board.
The bluetooth markings on QWE will not be on the right place to swap between channels
Is there any plan to release an ISO/AZERTY/FR K7 (or at least AZERTY/FR keycaps) ?
AZERTY/FR layout for reference : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AZERTY#/media/File:KB_France.svg
Hello everyone,
I recently came across Keychron. I'm absolutely in love with their products, but as a belgian I came across the problem I always have with keyboards. We use the azerty layout here. I don't know why, but I learned to type this way.
I understand it, but I'm also dissapointed that there isn't an option for an azerty layout in the store. What do I do?
Should I spend money, on other keycaps? The problem is that I love the look of the standard keycaps.
Should I wait until they release an azerty option?
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a "full sized" keyboard for a while now that would allow me to easily switch between my desktop (on which I play fast paced fps) and my macbook pro on which I work. I came across a lot keyboards but most of them were either fully fledged gamer and were too expensive or on the opposite they were made for people that only work and that don't need low latency like I do. I live in France and I have always used AZERTY keyboards but I came across the K13 max. I saw on the product's page that there were two different layouts available, either ANSI or ISO, and that there was the option to get a hot swappable model. I was wondering if I could somehow get the K13max hot swappable version and get it to be fully azerty (or at least really close)by switching the keys by myself?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
Your OS should have an AZERTY layout in the keyboard configuration. Just switch the keycaps for a FR AZERTY set (or since it's low profile, just switch the ISO caps around) and tell the OS that it's an AZERTY keyboard.
Hotswap has to do with changing out the switches, by the way, not the keycaps.
K13 Max is not a full-size keyboard. It is a 85% keyboard (though not TKL).
It has a (crippled) numeric keypad instead of navigation keys (e.g., PgUp/PgDn). And it doesn't have the Prt Sc key cluster.
It is better to get a real 100% (or 104%) keyboard, like a V6 Max. It would allow:
-
Repurposing some of the keys, for example, "=" instead of the Num Lock key (it can be moved somewhere else, e.g., as Fn + Num Lock).
-
Moving the keys around on the numeric keypad to suit a particular workflow. For example, keys that are often used in succession physically close together.
-
Adding a "00", like on some calculators.

I’m not sure if they’ll release any other layouts for a bit. If you can’t wait for that, maybe you need to buy other key caps.
Damn. I bought one qwerty not even thinking about it. I’ll have to cancel my order. I feel so dumb ! I’m glad I saw your post before they sent it !

Hello! I don't know a lot about keyboard but I'm hoping to buy my first mechanical keyboard, specifically the keychron k8 pro that's going to come out soon.
But I've got a problem since I'm using a french AZERTY keyboard. I know you can remap the layout with the keychron app but it's still a problem for the symbols since they are not on the same keycaps in azerty. On other discussions I saw people saying you need to buy the ISO version and change the keycaps.
So I'm probably going to ask a stupid question, but can't I just change the keyboard language directly on the computer with window, and change the keycaps, without having to buy the ISO version?
Thanks!
Ok, I'm fairly new to mechanical keyboard and in this sub too, I've make a couple of research with my problem in this sub but havn't found anything. I've learn about switches that I want, for the sounds the pressure etc.
Soooo, my problem is that I'm belgian and my mother tongue is french, so I've learned to write with an AZERTY layout (BE one first but those keyboards are so rare that even in belgium we have mostly FR layout), but every keyboards / keycaps seller who have ANSI OEM profile keycaps sell it in QWERTY, so my question is, does the caps on this keyboards are all the same or I can't replace a letter from the first row to put it on the second row ? (I've asked to keychron and they told me that I can't use a letter from the second row to use it on the first row, but I don't know if they understand my question)
If I can't, does seller for keycaps on the net use keycaps who are all the same or the problem apply here too ? (because they all show QWERTY caps)
I know that after the change I've to remap my keyboard and learn how to with Keychron FAQ
Thanks for your help
Edit : keychron understand what i've asked
