Bitten by the mechanical keyboard bug. Currently on Apple TKL. Looking for a good mechanical alternative. "Probably" has to be Mac compatible. And as I often write in French, "probably" with a French-Canadian layout (i.e. QWERTY + several accented characters). I write "probably" because alternative configurations could also work.
Not being familiar with these keyboards, I am not sure if they can be customized, and/or if it actually matters once you get used to touch typing on them -- there are, after all, blank keysets.
I'd appreciate suggestions for a good-to-excellent platform (meaning that there is no strict price ceiling) used for typing/coding (i.e. not gaming). Not really interested in LEDs either.
I've read quite extensively on the matter, about form factor, switches, custom keycaps and reviews. But found essentially no reference to keyboard layouts. Not entirely clear to me what is involved.

If it matters -- I am currently a reasonably proficient "unorthodox typist" learning the proper touch method.

Also looking for the same thing - haven't been able to find anything at all, unfortunately. WASD and Max Keyboards can do custom French Canadian layouts with the Mac OS key/cmd/alt, etc., but personally I'm looking for something even closer to Apple's French Canadian keyboard (with multimedia keys and all that).

The closest I've found is Keychron's UK ISO layout, then would have to find accent keys. Though I haven't been able to find accent keys or a French Canadian keycap kit anywhere.

Keychron does have a layout survey though! I just filled it out saying I'd do just about anything for an ISO CA-FR or CSA keyboard layout haha.

In the meanwhile, I'm keeping an eye out for a CA-FR/CSA keycap kit you could stick onto a decent Mac layout (like Keychron's).
I'm looking into buying a keychron and I was looking at their where to buy section and keychron.ca was not part of the list for Canada. I checked again today and it's listed there. Just wondering if anyone has ordered from there.
Hey all.... Looking into my first mechanical keyboard. Does anyone know what, if any, import taxes are added to an order? TIA.
